Hey there, thanks for reading. Michigander rider of 2019 (2020 bought) MT-10. 24,900 odo. - Akrapovic slip-on
- Heated grips (having issues considering going to OEM)
- Cosmetics.
Error code w/ blade: imgur.com/a/ioEdJqXThree issues/compounding issues currently confused on with the bike: - The throttle blade was once and still is causing an engine error. Please see image for the code I manually checked,
- Heated grips slip and doing move the underlying throttle blade. It's really really subtle and may be my entire issue. Grip glue and clear it at a dealer since when I cleared it it didn't work/stayed, that simple?
- Quiet "click" noise from rear (not engine/tranny, hear sometimes if when walking bike around shut off. You can find the specific place and make it click.)
First, I'm an idiot. Been to the dealer with this twice no luck on a proper diagnosis. Well.. "Adjusted clutch, runs fine.". Was accurate temporarily. I didn't hear clicking after both services and apparently the first time clutch was loose; the next time it was overtightened. Both services bike seemed to perform a lot better for faded. (I was trying my best to ignore any bias) Changed again back to a poor-feeling clutch again quickly. By the time I was home/20 miles and a power wheelie later the new normal was back. Bike can no longer power wheelie. Huh? Do I need a new clutch cable? A new clutch? One of the last days of the season last year, I may have been practicing clutch-ups for 30 mins in an empty parking lot. I only was good at power wheelies but thought I was doing fine. Maybe not since I smelt the clutch I think that smell was and when pulling out onto the road I noticed less acceleration in all gears. Remember my grips are awful and definitely slipped especially if rolling on fast af.
Definitely ran way better from last dealer, and to my surprise I kept stalling the bike since the clutch was WAY different/actually sensitive to touch. Felt proper for once. Grinning ear to ear. Today I feel like I have to pull the clutch in all the way almost now but it isn't engaging/moving when it is. Are these all clutch problems? From maybe 20,000 miles - 25,000 now I have gradually noticed a more and more loud/frequent light "click" noise. Sort-of like a chain skipping. The click sounded (inconsistently) sometimes louder and way more common when leaning the bike over in a turn. Chain hasn't been cleaned in 2500 miles since I am a lazy ******. Sorry. Trying to do better. Maybe they tightened my chain too tight? 25,000 and no valve timings ever changed; no new chain, sprocket(s), or anything done major tbh besides a blown radiator once and normal but honestly typically a few hundred miles at least late. Could it be the wheel bearing in the rear wheel going bad? Thank you for any advice before I bring it in again for service hopefully for the last time on all of this. Please let me know if you have any questions, thank you.

So you are due for valve clearances adjustment at 24k miles.
You clutch will make some noise when pulled in and can sound like clicking.
There is also cam/timing chain adjuster that will make clicking noise when it adjusts to next setting to tighten it up, but usually quiets down after a bit until until it gets to the next adjustment point. It reminds me of lifters clicking when setting up heads on old hot rod motors.
As for loss of umph is the clutch the original, if valves aren’t right you will have issues with power, not sure about if not getting those adjusted in the requested window could cause some deterioration of your head causing all kinds of fuel and exhaust issues?
Hope someone a bit more experienced on these machines can chime in as I’ve not had much experience wrenching on this bike or 4 stroke inline motors for that matter.

Should be overdue for new chain and sprockets especially if you wheelie and go 2500 miles between cleanings. Haha. Chain could be slipping. Basically if your sprocket teeth are thinning out or you have kinks in your chain, it's safe to say you need new chain and sprockets (it's recommended to change them at the same time). You can post a picture if you want us to tell you but I get 15k out of chains and I don't wheelie and am pretty good with chain lubricating and cleaning.
I'm not familiar with heated grips, but I have changed throttle tubes and grips on my bikes over the years and in order to prevent them from slipping, you have to safety wire the grips to properly keep them on the throttle tube. Did a quick search and found this YouTube video. I would recommend getting the special safety wire plier instead of using a needle nose plier like he does. Makes it much easier and cleaner which you need to have a clean tie off for the safety wire so the ends dont get stuck on your gloves or poke through them.
Hope that helps and hope it's something simple.
