Hi guys
FZ10 2017 12k miles
1) Overheating:
ibb.co/0F7B9DJ
Probable reasons:
*Recent coolant change (poor quality?) *Air in system *perhaps a loose screw *Or the new radiator guard generates more heat?
2) Engine noise (second problem)
Can someone advise me what it is? valves? Greetings

I'm thinking someone more knowledgeable than myself can probably answer; but I can certainly give it a stab.
Can you confirm if your overheating issue started happening immediately after you changed your coolant? What coolant brand/model did you use? It is technically possible that there is air in the system... But I'm pretty sure after you run the bike (let it cool for a bit) and then open the radiator cap again, fill it up... there shouldn't be a significant amount of air still in the system. What temperature is the thermostat reaching when it's overheating? On my Yamaha Fz8 - there is a copper crush washer that goes on with the coolant drain bolt. Is it possible that you did not install the copper crush washer, or the bolt is not tightened to spec?
I'm guessing the engine noise you are talking about is a ticking sound? Is there a timestamp in your video where the sound is most prominent that you want us to take a look at? If it is a ticking sound, then my guess would also be valves... Yamaha recommends valve clearances at 26600 miles, I would be surprised if they are already worn.
I have heard that if valves are too tight it could cause higher than usual temperatures on bikes (so possibly your overheating issue too); but I think someone else with knowledge will have to answer that one
Looking forward to watching this thread more; good luck!

What temperature are you showing? Did you use the same type of coolant as what was originally in it and if you didn't, didnyou properly drain and flush the system?
If you're just pushing coolant and not seeing drastically high temps above 230-240, you probably put too much coolant into the coolant reservoir and the bike ejected extra coolant when the coolant expanded under heating. Even the full line can be too much in hot weather.
Engine sounds normal. If you're referring to the rattle, it's the cam chain and is normal. We have auto cam chain tensioners on our bike that will automatically adjust the cam chain as it stretches. However, the adjuster can't tighten the chain until the chain stretches sufficiently enough for it to "grab" the next adjustment. So there's this period where the cam chain wikk rattle a bit but it is completely normal.

Tanks for reply
*Can you confirm if your overheating issue started happening immediately after you changed your coolant? Affirmative
*What coolant brand/model did you use?
*What temperature is the thermostat reaching when it's overheating? 240f
*Is it possible that you did not install the copper crush washer, or the bolt is not tightened to spec? you are right. I did not install the copper crush washer. I do not remember. I'll check that too.
*Is there a timestamp in your video where the sound is most prominent that you want us to take a look at?
