Called Yamaha corporate in the US and according to them their new ETA for first deliveries at dealerships is July now but they said it could be pushed back.
Quite frustrating

Quite frustrating Man, that is frustrating. I was hoping that things were picking up after another, closer dealer called and asked if we wanted to make a deposit on the new MT-10. But they did not have a clue as to when it would arrive. They said that they had ordered an MT-09 SP but not an MT-10 as of yet. The other dealer told me June, maybe July. Now it looks like it's possible to miss most of the riding season where I live. That sucks...

Seems like once we are finally able to get these bikes, the riding season is going to be over... It's a good sign that other countries are getting them at least... Maybe we'll get lucky and they are able to start getting them out to other countries as well.

It's bad enough having to wait so long, now my kids got together and let me know that instead of waiting until possibly July sometime, would I want a 2021 new MT-10, a new ZX14R, KTM Super Duke 1290, KTM Super Duke 890, a Kawi Z H2, or a Sportster 1200 (2004-2009) and a MT-10 or MT-10 SP next year sometime when they become available. Good kids.

My answer would be super duke 1290. But I got a Tuono V4 a couple months ago bc I was sick of waiting for a 22 mt10. And I kinda felt like I'd get screwed by the dealer because they wouldn't give me an otd price. I ended up getting the tuono for around 15k otd. That's a 2021 new model. I think the 22 mt10 will be a great bike when it gets here in 2023

I really like the MT-10, the Super Duke 1290 would be my first pick followed by the Z H2 SE. I'm used to big powerful sportbikes and I really like the comfort of the Kawi. If I was younger I'd definitely wait for the MT-10 or maybe the Aprilla. At 6'2'', I'm a little cramped on it these days. The Kawai is really fun to ride. I know that some think it is too heavy to carve corners with, but it really isn't. Obviously not as nimble as the MT-10, but at 68 do I need to take every corner at anything more than the Pace? Heck, back in the day I would pass guys on their race bikes while riding an XS1100.
I really screwed up. Had the 2019 MT-10 that was fixed up perfectly. Thing was a blast to ride. Then my wife passed away unexpectedly and put me in a tailspin. That, and it's expensive to die in the US. Sold the bike and regretted it soon after. Then my kids stepped up and trying to get me on the road again. With very lttle work, the H2 can be out of this world. I'll have to take a little time and think about it. Not making the most rational decisions right now.

Sorry to hear what you're going through. Sounds like you have some nice family around for support.
I think all the "hyper-nakeds" are great bikes. Just subtle differences between them. I just got the Tuono bc of the deal on it. I'm 6'3" and the pegs are up there, but not too bad. I just put a leovince exhaust and a 43t sprocket on it and it makes a big difference. It sounds awesome. Think I'll go 44t when the chain is worn out bc then I'll have to get a longer chain. Front is already 15t. The sdr1290 piques my interest because of all the torque down low. I think I'd like it more on the street, but I don't know about riding position. I've heard you're hung out over the front like a supermoto. Oh well, I'd like to have them all! I like everything that goes fast. I hope you get something to go out and have fun on soon!

Much love and light to you and yours.
Do what you love, your wife would want it that way. Get back on the horse.

Well, I picked up the 2022 Z H2 today, black with red trellis frame. Need to break it in before really checking it out. If I were younger by 20-30 yrs. I would have waited for the MT-10. So darn quick and nimble and takes turns on rails. But these days I have to accept that I don't have the skills that I once did. I'm still a very good rider, but I can't keep up with these young guys and gals today. The H2 is more of a road bike and I live for the high speed sweepers. While I'll keep this bike for the long haul, I could see posibly getting another MT-10 in the future, that is if they ever make it to the states. Ironically this shop had a new 2021 MT-10 on the floor. Almost took it but I really like the updates on the 2022 MT-10. But after checking out the H2 up close and personal, it was a no brainer. Fits me like a glove. Everyone at the shop, the parts guys, the service guys etc. kept telling me how crazy of a bike that it is and am I sure I know what I'm doing. Showed them pics of my ZX14R's and the MT-10 and they got it. Thanks for all of the help and info and be well everyone. Keep the rubber side down.

That bike was definitely another consideration for me. I definitely thought of getting a different bike other than the MT-10, but I'm still holding strong and will wait until I can get a 2022/2023 MT-10 in the states.

I think the biggest reason europe is getting there mt 10s first then the other countries in the world its becauase europe is where they sold the most mt's in the past, especially england for sure. Still waiting for my sp version cant wait, I love everything of that bike. I gues this bike is worth the wait, I Hope you guys getting your mt 10 fast too.

I took a nice long ride on my FZ-10 today which I bought almost six years ago, time really flies. Still enjoying it and don't see the need for any updating at this point, and trying to update is almost impossible these days as little is available. Hope everyone gets the ride of their choice....eventually.

I live in the midwest and my local dealer is getting three in June. I just put down a deposit on one of them. Every other dealer I called within a couple hundred miles had no idea when or if they'd be getting any. One dealer already sold the one they've been promised and it was likely they wouldn't see any more until 2023. I'm paying MSRP but of course they're being a little ahem...bold?... on freight and prep fees. If anyone is looking in the midwest there should be two black ones available at Big St. Charles Motorsports in St. Charles, MO in June.

Dealers only know how many bikes are granted by Yamaha. They will be notified only when motorcycles reach the usd/cad warehouse.
Once the ship leaves Asia, Dealers dont know when the boat will arrive. Dealers dont have tracking... The boat can even stay on site for several weeks.
I live in Canada, I wrote directly to Yamaha Canada and they told me it could be this week, in june, july or even later.
The reason they already have them in Europe is related to supply and proximity. The boat with all motorcycles is probably on the way since a couple of weeks... (or maybe months)

Freight charges are listed on the yamaha website so of they're charging you more than that (I posted it in a previous post on this thread I believe) then call them out on it. Prep varies by dealer but these bikes come 95% together. They uncrate it, put the mirrors on, charge and install the battery, check tires, fluids and all electrical (lights etc) and send it. Anything more than $250 is too much IMO but they might have a set fee that's applied to every unit they sell
