SC-Project S1 slip on exhaust. I have no tuning or additional exhaust work done. Great product packaging. Supplier was a breeze to deal with and sent extra stickers and quick dry t-shirt with order. I was able to get a GREAT black Friday deal on this. Again really great service. S1 Exhaust www.sc-project.us/s1-exhaust-by-sc-project-Y20-KT41T.html?mmyId=7765&mmy=Yamaha-FZ-10-2017There is also a CR-T Exhaust for the FZ-10 www.sc-project.us/cr-t-exhaust-by-sc-project-Y20-K36T.html?mmyId=7767&mmy=Yamaha-FZ-10-2017Here is what came in the box: The fit and finish on the exhaust is exceptional. Really looks nice and all details are finished out perfect. Quality product. Installation is as simple as it gets. The S1 is much lighter than the factory exhaust. I didn't weigh them but I'd guess 1/2 the weight. It slips on and you mount one 8mm allen bolt, nut and washer. (you will need a little blue loctite and a 13mm wrench as well) . It doesn't get any simpler. I tried to keep the videos at the same distance and position to give a fare representation of factory to S1. The S1 is louder. Not as loud as I was afraid it was going to be. The factory sounds great, but it is a little on the high note. Almost like a metal 'ting' sound to it. The S1 is definitely deeper and more guttural. It's hard to compare sounds of exhaust in a enclosed area revving the throttle, but it's something to measure. On the road I can definitely tell a difference in sound. It just plain sounds meaner. As far as a difference in power or throttle response, if any, it would be the placebo effect. It doesn't feel any more or less powerful (I didn't expect this either). The better exhaust note does make it 'seem' faster lol. Factory stock exhaust SC-Project S1 exhaust (no tune or additional exhaust work done)

Thanks for the write up. Nice looking pipe.
Do you know the key difference between the S1 and CR-T version? Which is louder, or which claims to perform better?

Per the manufacturer:
S1 larger pipe diameter and longer. Euro compliant.
Neither will add much to performance without cat removal and tune. Both are loud, but I'd guess the CR-T is louder. (guess)
It really comes down to looks.

Looks nice sounds nice. I like that it is not the obnoxious loud hollow sound like the complete system. The stock cat chamber and EXUP do the work and this silencer just enhances the exit sound 😊

What are your thoughts on this? I like it's a complete system, reputable brand, and has a unique style.

I understand the plethora of reasons as to why people go with the louder systems, but I just don't want to hate riding my bike. On the flip side I do wish the stock exhaust was a bit louder and gruntier (word?). I need/love the variable exhaust system that comes stock, not just because I live in an apartment complex, but because of the aforementioned personal opinion. I'm sure there's a youtube vid out there to show how it may sound/look before pulling the trigger. I do like the S1 looks and it's a slip on so you don't loose the flappy flap, and it sounds sexy. Great pick 0002s!

I've heard a few time there is a limit to how loud you want an exhaust. I have a race header and exhaust on my car and it's insanely loud. Not too bad unless I have the windows down. I like loud, but don't want ear busting loud. I'll look into videos on this exhaust. I like that two of you don't like the looks which means, less demand, price may go down. As for the tuning, according to revzilla, it doesn't require one. However, I can't imagine you'd want to skip out on one.

They are easy to reach. I suggest calling them and checking on what they have in stock.

FWIW
I called them, placed the order for what was in stock, and had the exhaust in 1 day (I live 50 miles from them).

I'm astounded at how far SC-Project have come in so little time. I never heard of them before I returned from deployment (Oct 2016), and now they are everywhere, including a large presence on the WSBK grid. Displacing proven entities such as Akra, Yosh, Termi, Arrow, LeoVince, etc is quite the achievement. Must be a great product - comments anyone?
regards, Tony

Quality is top notch, they have been round the Italian bikes for a good few years now. 5+ But as said, there manufacturing times are shocking! Thats just Italian companies in general though... if you have ever owned a ducati or aprilia you will know all about the summer holiday factory closures every year too, massive pain in the ass if your beloved italian machine breaks down and you need replacement parts!!

After 40+ days i cancelled my order. You can only get the SC project exhaust through the US distributor. You used to be able to order through the SC project factory, until Motovation installed themselves as the middle men. They charge you extra for no discernible benefit, as they don't respond to email, and actually slow the shipping process down by having it arrive to Motovation, then ship it ground to your location. It's a cheap money grab due to their exclusive distributorship. If it doesn't come in by end of week, I will cancel and just get the akra.

Im in the uk, so have the choice of ordering direct from the factory or going via a dealer. Usually its cheaper through a dealer as they will give you free shipping but again it slows the delivery down
