I am looking at the 2022 mt-10 or last year model in the matte black color but have never owned matte paint. For those who have the matte black could you post pictures when its all cleaned up so i can get a good idea on how it looks? Does it require special care or can i use high quality detail spray/wash to keep it looking sharp. I guess im kinda crazy as i like to polish and clean my toys lol Thanks!!

I always used S100 wax cleaner on my black and it was great. It's mostly wrapped now though lol

My dealer has a leftover mt-09 with the matte black, will have to look at it again. I'm still on the fence over the color but matte black on the 22 is the only one i like. The gray and baby blue wheels is not for me and SP looks nice but a big price increase!

I use Wizards Wipe Down which is specifically for Matte finishes. If you use most any other cleaner polish it is going to add a gloss to the finish. After 2 years and 21,000 miles, it still looks good and no gloss.
I also keep a small bottle of this which I got at Cycle gear in my tank bag to clean my helmet visor on the road.

So I'm very neglectful with my exterior cleaning. I keep the bug graveyard plastered on my bike sometimes for months at a time.
I simply just spray her down, wipe her down with some soap and water then hit her with some Honda Spray Cleaner and Polish after she dries and she looks like new again.
The matte definitely holds up, I have a 2017.

I use a motorcycle soap called muc off and then a detail spray for matte finishes (cycle care ruff cut cleaner). The spray gives it a little coating to help repel future dirt/bugs. In general I am not sure how to remove scratches if any are in the paint, you can’t buff out like normal paint as it would change the finish. Overall though if you are at all careful you shouldn’t have an issue. Mine is still looking good after about 9,000 miles. Could even look into doing a paint sealer for more durability.
