Just had the worst luck ever last night. 2018 mt10 with 7400 miles on it Engine went buy buy. just cruising around and bam Click Clack Smack coming from motor drained oil very pretty metallic oil in the pan just changed oil 200 miles ago with full synth mobil 1 racing and new oem filter. No warranty owned for only a month bought it with 4000 miles on it. Any suggestions or what my possible options would be to fix this thing would be greatly appreciated.

Interested in why the engines have failed. Maybe I will pull mine apart when the warranty is up and do an inspection and blueprint it.

Very sorry to hear about your bike what a nightmare. This is starting to get scary. Can you tell us what's been done to the bike was it bone stock ? Flashed piped air cleaner? Sea level or mountain ?

Very sorry to hear about your bike what a nightmare. This is starting to get scary. Can you tell us what's been done to the bike was it bone stock ? Flashed piped air cleaner? Sea level or mountain ? Live in north western South Carolina bike has titanium R1 Headers Titanium Akro Mid with a shorty Graves can on it. Bike was dyno tuned by Cycle Specialties here in Taylors SC. They have dyno tuned many of these bikes and they also build record setting drag bikes so I definitely trust their skill. Bike ran like a champ was making 147 hp and 79ftlbs at the wheel. One thing I noticed before it all went wrong was a metallic friction sound could almost be mistaken as a whistle coming from your helmet. looking back that was probably the sound of the bearings shredding to pieces I would imagine the bearings were not getting oil due to fod in motor from factory. Another thing to note is how hot the cp4 cover(stayed scalding hot for an hour and a half after bike was turned off) was and also the clutch cover the black paint was actually bubbling off of it in some places after the failure happened. |

Wow ok thank you for that info I will be watching that closely from here on out maybe take heat ratings with temp gun variations. That's good info to have and again sorry man that really sucks ass . Please keep us informed with the diagnosis along the way.

So I called the dealership to find out what my options were and it wasn't looking good, until I spoke to the service manager. Come to find out the person who owned it before me bought a 4 year extended Yamaha warranty. So she is covered till 2024. There is some hope and I don't feel sick to my stomach anymore. Also called Yamaha to confirm. I will let you know what is wrong once they tear it down.

With all the modifications you can forget warranty ...
I think that it has run too poor, it will explain the temp problem and the issue.
