Hello, new here.
So I recently bought an akra link pipe that I planned to use with my stock can for now until I can get a slip on. However I tried installing it and I wasn’t able to get the stock can mounting points to line up with the akra link pipe mounting bracket that they provide, but I’ve seen a few videos where they have the same setup as I do, and the pipe appears to be mounted without a problem. But of course they have the heat shield on so I can’t see how it’s mounted.
Anyways, the can will slide on but it will overshoot the mounting whole by a good inch or more. If I attempt to line it up, the can is basically not even on the pipe. Has anyone had success getting this to install and mount up? Everything else went smoothly so I know I didn’t do anything else wrong since I followed the directions.

It's probably light enough since it's just an empty short length of pipe that you can install without mounting to the frame. Otherwise I'd rule out that it's the wrong pipe obviously.

That's weird. Sounds like your Akra pipe exit is too short. My bike has that exact setup, but I bought it already on.

I did the akra link pipe and stock muffler a long time ago. I don’t recall having any issues.

I have a similar issue. What I did was push down very lightly on the bracket as I hand tighten the two Allen bolt. make sure that the muffler is installed all the way in on the link pipe. You will also need to make sure that the clamp on the muffler is very loose because you have to push up the muffler to line them up. Don’t worry the link pipe itself is not going to move. The muffler has ton of room for adjustment. Then it will line up perfectly. now you can install the bolt on the muffler and start tightening the rest. the stock muffler I’m installing is coming from R1 but i have the oem MT-10 on there before.

Oh wow thanks for the responses! I forgot I made this post honestly because I realized the pipe was too loud anyway so I got the sc project exhaust. Turns out that exhaust is also too loud with that setup so I’m looking to sell it…
