Hi there, new to the forum.
Yamaha MT10 2017 question -
I'll be getting my wheels powder coated in the coming weeks and the body shop have advised ill need to remove the tyres, brake discs and wheel bearings for them to do this.
I'm quite mechanically minded but just a bit hesitant about the wheel bearings. Are these easy enough to remove with a standard wheel bearing removal tool? there is nothing wrong with the bearings that will be removed so can these be refitted or is it good practice to replace them with new ones (provided they come out without being damaged?
tried searching the forums and YouTube but no avail.
Thanks!

Never reuse bearings. Unless you opt for ceramic replacements, the standard steel ones are cheap enough to replace.

If you're removing them just put new ones in You'll need a long steel bar and a hammer. Knock one out from the opposite side then switch sides and do the second. There may be a spacer in between the bearings as well

The manual also advises installing the right bearing first, then the spacer, then the left bearing until it contacts the spacer. This is important to get right, the sequence can affect where the centreline of the wheel sits relative to the axle, and you don't want to add any side load to the bearing by driving the outer race too far in.
