Has anyone fixed the loose OEM seat I notice that mine is getting more loose maybe because of my death grip when balancing it to put on the rear stand. I did try and search the site for seat or seat fix and nothing came up so if its been mowed over already let me know or what you did to take up some of the slack or movement . I was thinking of the little rubber dimples you can get at home improvement center for like glass table or bottom of legs something like that could be added to the stock rubber grommets thanks...

I've seen a post somewhere where they packed a bit of rubber into the pocket on the tank mount where the seat tongue fits, that tightened the whole thing up (apparently).

For the comfort seat, I used the larger rubber grommets from the stock seat to replace the front smaller rubber grommets to prevent the seat from rubbing and ripping, a known issue with the comfort seats.
I imagine you coulddo the same for the stock seat as this really tightened up the fit for the comfort seat.
I have a thread about it if you're not sure what I'm talking about and you wanna search through threads created by me.

When I was going through my spare parts before selling my 2014 FZ1, I noticed the rubber grommets on that stock seat were just over double the thickness of the grommets on the FZ10 (bike sold with gel seat installed). So I installed the thicker grommets on the two front points on the -10. A bit trickier to install seat without popping the grommet off, but did tighten it up.

Not sure why you have a 'death grip' on the seat while getting it on a maintenance stand. I just use my left hand on the left grip to position it upright while my right hand maneuvers the rear stand into position to engage the two spools before lifting. The seat isn't touched during the process.

Left grip ? Not sure where that is on the handle bars ?. I'm behind my bike hand through the loop on the Seat trying to line up rear spools to stand there us a tipping point, I almost dropped it one now I have death grip ..

I'm using forward handle stand, you are using rear handle stand, so different techniques needed for use. That's why I use a forward Pit Bull stand, it's easier to control the bike, imo. Never did like using a rear handle stand for the reasons you mention.

I see this is my second rear stand ever did not foresee my issue when buying them , even still seems like it would be kinda hard to see past the can when trying to hook the spool .

No problem setting the hooks when using a front handle stand. There is a clear view to the right side spool between the can and the swingarm. So you first hook the left spool which is directly below, than lean over, sight the right side spool and hook it, then push handle down. Very easy. Some people like the regular rear handle, some like the forward type. Choices.
