I have a titanium silencer and a stainless mid pipe with the stock headers. The stock headers look like shit. I was thinking of having them ceramic coated but then started thinking, why can't I just paint them? Has anyone done this and how'd it look and hold up.

I've never painted them. I'd assume the paint would start shipping off and eventually it'd look worse than normal lol. I've wrapped headers before - did it on my Super Hawk. Looked great. Thinking of doing it to this bike as well, maybe in a couple years when they start looking like crap.

I’ve painted a different header with the VHT ceramic. Maybe it was shit prep work or on bike curing sucks, but it cracked and flaked off.
I also wrapped those headers afterward. Eventually, the tube cracked.
This was on an older sportster.

I saw some post where the guy said he did them with BBQ paint and they looked good but had to redo every 2 years or so. There's so many high performance paints out there now that you'd think there'd be one that works.

Get ceramic coating. Paint won't last. I literally bent the muffler in a mishap and the ceramic didn't move. I was impressed.

ceramic is the way to go. Not only does it last but keeps more heat inside the header pipes and actually helps exhaust flow.
