I took the rear wheel off for a new tire. The removed the caliper and the silver colored caliper holder. I am having a bitch of a time getting everything to fit back together. Is it one of those finesse issues or am I missing something. The owner's manual doesn't directly address this and I have searched here. Any help appreciated. Thanks

Haha oh yeah it's a pain. First time I took off the tire was a straight up headache. I had my wife holding the spacer on one side, daughter holding the other.
Once back on and aligned I went straight to STG and ordered the pitbull tire wedge deal. Expensive but worth every friggin cent...I had everyone pissed off.

Just did the same with mine but I managed to do it all by myself. What a PITA! I'm definitely getting that pit bull helper - I've seen it around and was always like "meh" but now having done my rear and knowing how huge of a pain it is I'll be getting one lol

Thanks for posting that video. I'm going to attempt to cut a piece of wood to work like the pit bull helper and see how it goes. I'll spend the $90 if it doesn't behave like I think it will. I have never taken off a wheel myself but that's part of the reason I got the rear Pit Bull stand and was planning to get the front in the spring. How does removing and reinstalling the front compare to the rear? Is there anything tricky there?

How does removing and reinstalling the front compare to the rear? Is there anything tricky there? Front is much easier. Calipers have to come off but that's only 2 bolts per caliper and the pads won't fall out like they do on the rear (if you remove the rear caliper from the bracket). If you get the Pit Bull front stand get the optional holder (https://www.sportbiketrackgear.com/pit-bull-front-stand-abs-friendly-hybrid-swivel/ - get the left side one) that's got one shorter pin that will clear the front wheel speed sensor. The standard pit bull holders will hit the sensor. I also have the hybrid stand so I just lift it from the bottom of the triple tree instead

Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou. I was about to lose my mind, I thought I had lost a bolt that held the caliper hanger then realized there isn't one, it just sits there.

I strongly suggest that you invest in a set of captive wheel spacers. They are held in place by the dust seals and will save you the headache of spacers popping out and rolling across the garage floor. Worth their weight in gold, they are.

I got it replaced using some home made ingenuity based on the video. Thanks again to all.

I use a ratchet strap thru the rear wheel and over the seat... easy and adjustable.

Lightech chain adjusters FTW. makes 90% of all rear wheel stuff so much easier. Especially chain adjustments.
