It sure is the MT-07. That means the 10's reveal should be next week www.yamahamotorsports.com/hyper-naked/models/mt-07New for the 2021 MT-07: Updated 689cc CP2 Engine The 2021 MT-07 features an updated 689cc liquid-cooled in-line 2-cylinder CP2 engine. The 270° crankshaft is based on Yamaha’s Crossplane Concept, and the bore × stroke of 80.0 mm × 68.6 mm and 11.5:1 compression ratio produce maximum torque at 6,500 RPM. The intake air duct design, exhaust system specs - now integrated 2-into-1 exhaust pipes and muffler - and ECU specs were changed. The fuel injection settings were optimized for a smoother delivery of power when the throttle is slightly open at low rpm. Together, these updates maintain the same level of engine response as before for easy-to-use performance. Other updates include new valve seats with excellent abrasion resistance for the exhaust side, an improved gearshift feel thanks to different cut angles for the dog gears, and repositioning of the catalytic converter - now closer to the headers - and the oxygen sensor. Next-Generation Design Joining the 3rd generation MT style - as featured on the 2021 MT-09 - the 2021 MT-07's new look further brings out its distinctive appeal with fashion-leading colors and graphics. The newly designed parts and components are integrated with minimal structural elements, creating an attractive design that emphasizes pure Hyper Naked character. With a silhouette that is synonymous with the MT Series' signature statement of torque and power, the MT-07 showcases a tight, compact and powerful appearance. LED Projector Lighting With new LED lighting for the position lights, headlight and both front and rear turn signals, the 2021 MT-07 exhibits clear and powerful illumination with a modern design. Stronger Stopping Power The 2021 MT-07 boasts stronger stopping power with bigger 298mm front brake discs that house more progressive braking characteristics. Updated Cockpit The new multi-function negative LCD instrument display with a black background and white readouts mounts over the center of the newly designed handlebars, which are now taller and wider. The rider's left hand switch assembly has been rearranged with a Trip / Info switch. This redesign allows the rider to toggle through multiple functions of the meter more conveniently and gives the cockpit an updated luxurious feel. New Ergonomics The tapered handlebar - now raised and wider - brings a comfortable, easy-to-ride position for an upright, controllable feel when maneuvering through the streets.

As I stated yesterday, the Transformer look is O-U-T, it was not well received by the public. MT-07 and -09 both have simplified front end, the same will carry through to the MT-10.
A few have been grumbling that the new fronts look terrible and they will be jumping ship.....sayonara.

They were bold designs and much of the target audience didn't like it. Won't be the first time bold designs had to be pulled back.

I don't have a MT10 (I have the 2017 MT09) and I've been waiting for a redesign to get one. I'm hoping for the TFT and all the goodies that the new MT09 has. However between the transformer headlights and the new ones like the 2021 MT09, I'd choose transformer headlights any day. And if I were to go for a new MT10 with new headlights (assuming they look as bad as the 2021s) it would be solely because of the new "goodies", hoping that the headlights can be changed...

Yea I bought my 10 a little over two months ago. I was debating waiting to see what the 2021's looked like and had for goodies (was hoping for them to bring the SP over here to the US) but found a smoking deal on a leftover 2019 Raven so I pulled the trigger. Seeing the updates to the 09 has got me wishing I had waited though. There's no way they can give the 09 a color screen, the IMU, lean-angle ABS and up/down quickshifter (basically all the goodies from the R1) without giving it to the 10 as well. I was torn between the 10 and a 1290 Super Duke and was talking to the wife about maybe trading for a Duke after a year or so. Depending on what the new 10 looks like I might just trade for it instead.

A few have been grumbling that the new fronts look terrible and they will be jumping ship.....sayonara. I’m sure Yamaha didn’t create this look to lose sales. Yeh some didn’t like the look of the 10 when it was released but there were those of us that did.I thought they nailed it with the 2017 MT09. Yeh I said I’d jump ship if the new 10 looked like this but I can’t imagine Yamaha being as stupid in thinking if you don’t like it go elsewhere so sayonara. I’ve really not read anything positive about the new 09 design whereas the 10 was divided. That’s quite the difference. When last I looked on their announcement page nobody had anything good to say about the new front. I just hope they revise it enough to look decent on the 10.

No changes for 2021 MT-10. Unbelievable. All they did was get rid of the Ice Fluo from 2019 and 2020 and replace it with the blue from 2018. How can they update the MT-09 with an SP, color dash, IMU, up/down quickshift and more and leave the flagship with less goodies??

No changes for 2021 MT-10. So Yamaha gives the MT-09 the SP treatment and basically leaves the 10 out in the cold? SUPER LAME.

I don't think they will ever turn the mt10 into a tracer, you would need it to do 20mpg more or an 8 gallon tank to do any touring and you can't go out in the dark with the current headlights, that's why i have a 900 tracer also.

Nobody said anything about turning it into one. I want the SP version that Europe has access I want it to have all the same goodies from the R1 that the MT-09 just got. Maybe a new 10 next year? Either that or they'll kill off the 10 and just leave the 07 and 09

Some good insight from a friend that owns the local yamaha dealership. Makes sense I guess. Still amazes me they couldn't at least bring the SP to the US even if they weren't going to change it. 🤷
