Just hit 400 miles after a month for buying my 2019. I have a Hindle 3/4 exhaust and Yoshi undertail so far.
My complaints:
1. The seat. Typical Yamaha hardness and the annoying downward slant to the tank.
2. The jerky on/off throttle is really annoying (riding in mode 2 - not sure what the equates to for the FZ's STD/A/B)
3. The mirrors are useless for looking at anything but the inside of my elbows
4. The flat spot in the HP/TQ around 5k.
5. The throttle return spring is pretty strong. Solved by adding a "cruise control" paddle to the throttle to make it easier on my hand
6. Quickshifter only works for upshifting, no autoblipper for downshifting.
7. The headlights. Seemingly bright LED but the beam width is horrible at night.
My loves:
1. The sound. I put a Hindle 3/4 exhaust on and it sounds INSANE but even the stock exhaust sounded pretty decent
2. The seating position - back is upright, no weight on my wrists
3. The torque from this thing. Riding at 75MPH in 6th and just lay into it and the thing wants to come out from under me.
4. The cruise control is AWESOME
5. The engine braking is crazy. I've hardly used my brakes
5. The Quickshifter is AWESOME
Factory LED signals that aren't horrible looking and factory LED tail light are great. Probably the first bike that I won't change either on.
Plans:
1. ECU flash from 2WDW
2. Get an aftermarket seat or have an upholstery shop redo mine
3. Rearsets - maybe go with Gilles? I loved them on my TLR.
Neutrals:
1. Fuel range. My last two bikes VTR1000 and TL1000R I was filling up at around the 100 mile mark so this isn't any inconvenience to me
2. The gauge. Would have been nice to get the TFT like on the R1. I'm going to get an LCD flip kit for it though so make it look nicer.
3. I wish they had brought the MT10 SP to the USA, I would have gotten that in a second instead.

Rode 3900 miles before getting ecu done. 600 since the flash and can kick myself for not doing it sooner. Got a stock exhaust but damn what a difference.
While that was out at 2wdw did the brake pads and changed tires to Q3's, again should've done it sooner. Way better feel all the way around. Well worth the money on all 3. 0 regrets

Seat is not my favorite but all the aftermarket options are too expensive and/or ugly.
2wdw did make a difference although not as large as I expected.
I really wanna do a pad swap as I feel the brakes are spongy and lack feel.
Glad you are enjoying the bike, so far its the best bike I've ever owned IMO.

Yea the only one I'm a really fan of are the Topsellerie ones but they're in the UK so shipping wouldn't be worth it plus it's a trade-in process. I'm not a fan of the looks on the Corbin although the Sargent ones don't look too bad.

2&4 ECU flash solves that
6. If you ever feel like upgrading, go directly to the Translogic unit, do not get the FTECU one. The install is more involved but it's equivalent to doing AIS block off plates.

I might just get that seat concepts one and do it myself. I've done plenty of dirt bike seats so this should be easier by comparison. As far as the QS goes I'll probably just leave it as the units are pretty pricey. I'm definitely planning on getting the 2WDW tune this winter. The on/off throttle seems to be worse when the engine is colder, not so bad once it's hot.

The 2wdw tune helped with the throttle, but I still ended up using a G2 throttle tamer and the throttle is now liquid smooth it's an awesome piece although kinda pricey for a throttle tube. I installed the seat concepts on my wife's mt09 and it's about the same as a dirt bike seat. And she has been satisfied with it. I've used them on 2 dirt bikes and been happy with them. Good luck the mods are part of the fun of owning a bike.

Well it's a lot cheaper than the Graves one lol. Back when I had my TL1000R someone was making inserts for the stock throttle tube that would essentially do the same. It was only like $20 IIRC.
I'll probably scoop up that throttle tamer along with the tune this winter.

The on/off throttle seems to be worse when the engine is colder, not so bad once it's hot. The abrupt on/off throttle is because of the declcut. It’s where the ecu completely cuts the fuel when you close the throttle and it’s only for emissions. The 2wdw tune eliminates that so it drastically improves throttle feel. That was my biggest complaint with my bike and the tune 100% fixed it.

interesting you mention the headlights as a dislike. I havent had a bike with better night lights. where im at, i can see both sides of the road even on low beam. an ECU flash is the single greatest thing you can do to the bike though, if you like the power now, wait till its flashed.

They just don't have a wide enough beam pattern for my liking. I mean they're good for bike headlights sure

Adding a second low beam and having the two spread at a slight angle would help a TON. But seeing how you can only get it as a unit and also need the control box ~$1000 with tax isn't worth it lol

I’ve got the Crazy Iron cage on my bike so I could wire up some auxiliary lights and mount them to that but then I’m dangerously close to my FZ-10 looking like an ADV bike lol. Could be good camouflage against cops though. No officer that wasn’t me doing 150mph on the highway! This bike can’t go that fast, just look at it. 😜

I've only ridden it once with the mirrors - it's been kinda rainy. So far I like them. At night it takes some of the glare off of car headlights behind you which is nice. In they day they look great compared to clear mirrors. Those ones you listed say it won't deliver to my location and I need to choose a different delivery location lol

Revzilla is out of stock on them but I’m sure you can find them elsewhere. I got the Speedmetal bar end mirrors and they clamp directly to the factory bar ends. No adapters or anything extra needed. They also come with plastic rings to size them and protect the bar ends from getting scratched up. I get a clear view behind me meaning they aren’t buzzy and they also have the blue tint. I want to say they were like $40 each.

1] Get a Boosterplug, the difference is amazing to the low speed running. 2] Get it remapped. 3]Yamaha do a tourer version and the comfort seat from that is really good. 4]get some mirror stalk extenders[extend the mirrors by 40mm and cost £6 about $10]. 5] Totally agree about the useless "headlight" nothing we can do about that, except for me i go out on my other bike at night.
