I just installed a GYTR Quick Shifter on my 2017 FZ-10. Install was fairly easy and straightforward. I was able to turn on the QS function by holding the shift lever up, turning the bike on, and keeping the shift lever up for over 10 seconds. When I start the bike now, QS shows on my display. I thought I was on my way to experiencing smooth up shifts with open throttle, but when I went to test, it doesn't appear to be working. While testing, I am at about 4500 rpm's but when I try to up shift, it is either very difficult to get the lever to change to the next gear, or the bike surges a little bit if I am able to change the gear. Seems to me that the QS is not working, and I am just clutchless up shifting. I verified the the correct length on the unit, and verified the connection was tight on between the unit and the QS port on my bike. Anything else to try before assuming the GYTR part is bad?

If you are backing off the throttle to shift the quickshifter will not engage. It only works under acceleration. Try shifting under acceleration and it will probably work just fine.

Thanks for your reply superspirit. Not sure what was wrong, but I took the unit off and reinstalled it, and it worked after that. It was almost as if my ECU didn't recognize that it was there. The only thing I did different was adjust my ASV short clutch lever, thinking maybe my bike was registering the clutch was engaged. Works great now, exactly what I was expecting. I'm finished upgrading this bike now, and may have to get another one so as not to get bored. MT-09?
