I was wondering if anyone had experience with exhaust placement on the MT10. I was looking at getting Austin Racing exhaust but was curious if the underbelly (rightunder the foot peg) is much louder than the standard position where the exhaust exit would be behind the rider?

Regardless of the placement if you get rid of the cat it will be loud AF!

I have the shorter Lextek exhaust (decat and shorty muffler) and it is very loud. When I had the decat pipe with stock muffler it was slightly less loud, but loud regardless. The austin racing is similar to my current set up, After installing it I NEEDED ear plugs for mountain riding bc the sound bouncing back made my ears ring.

Thanks for the the replies guys, after doing about 1000 miles in 3 days just the wind noise alone in my Shoei RF1200 was enough to warrant ear plugs so I guess ill just have to live with ear plugs and loud exhaust. I Rather people hear me coming.

They won't hear you no matter what dude. Ride in comfort. The drone is annoying on long trips.
