Anyone have similar issue where your side stand area is greasy with thick black stuff? Initially thought engine oil was leaking but realise it was combination of dirt + lube + grease. This is a potentially dangerous issue as the leak can enter your plunger device and cause it to become haywire. Can cause your engine to cut off mid-corner or while cruising. Probably my fault for overlubing or not cleaning the chain enough, but shouldn’t there be seals to prevent this from happening, maybe at the sprocket cover or plunger casing?

Yeah there’s a thread on here where a guy had that exact issue. Caused his bike to shut off while he was riding. The sidestand switch was gunked up. That’s why I use chain wax and not lube or oil. Sealed chains don’t need lube only something to keep the links from rusting.
