Better put him back to stock , also the exhaust . If you tell them you put something aftermarket on it you lose you're warranty .

I know on cars they can tell if the ECU has been flashed even if it is put back to stock, it has a memory function. Don't know if the MT-10 does this or not. It is hard to fool Yamaha, they aren't going to do all kinds of repairs under warranty if it appears the bike has been retuned.

If it was flashed with Woolwich gear and then flashed back to stock, they shouldn't be able to detect any changes.

Anyone seen this? motorandwheels.com/common-problems-yamaha-mt-10/Their number 2 sign your engine has blown "Blown rods and pistons are also a sign that your engine has failed" Whether there is any truth to this article, who knows, but I found that funny.

Sometimes they just take a shit. You're not the first one but I know that won't make you feel better. A tune remember just alters the fuel map and turns off all the environmental stuff. None of that is going to make the engine fail, if anything it actually improves it's life by making it run cooler. That's because the bikes run really lean out the factory so in turn corrects the fuelling increasing the AF ratio inturn making it burn cooler. Leave it with Yamaha and maybe keep quiet about the ECU flash. Keep us posted though. True. The bike was running better after the tune I guess it was just a coincident. Will keep you posted what did yamaha say? or did you find out what might've caused the failure?
