For those following along or interested in the oil leak thread i started a few weeks ago I determined the issue to be leakage from the gasket at the timing chain/oil pump cover on the right side. Oil was only really coming from the bottom bolt in the cover presumably because oil sits behind that cover and not much higher. Before I remove this cover has anyone done this? Is it straight forward? The silver oil lines going into the cover trouble me so I haven't cracked it open yet... Any help would be appreciated.

Try to move from side to side to remove cover, once you take it off those two pins should stay like on picture, in worst scenario it will effect timing

Just don't mess with anything inside. Clean the metal, replace the gasket, replace the cover and that's it.
Did you try just tightening the bolts or were they properly torqued?

Yes gasket must be pinched or deformed at lower bolt. Everything is tight and still leaking.
My concern was having to remove the oil lines...

The right pin pulled out with the cover but went right back in with out moving anything else. That was the only hickup. Did this mess up timing?

If nothing moved you'll be ok.

I just replaced this cover on mine because it got all scratched up from the previous owner low siding it. Easy job, no issues at all. Done in about 15 minutes.
