Welcome to the forum!!!
I went with a slightly longer brake line. People have said that the stock lines will work but I just felt after looking where the R1 master's banjo bolts connect to vs the stock, that it was going to be a tight fit.
Yes you need a new reservoir. You can purchase a reservoir kit from Brembo if you don't have one and it should come with the required mounting hardware.
If you got the reservoir from an R1 like I did, I had to make a mount for the brake fluid reservoir. I went with a ladybird mount and had a buddy help me bend it to where I needed. I can't remember if this was required or I just didn't get the mounting hardware from the person I bought it from. But if I'm recalling correctly, I think the reservoir connects to the triple tree mount on the R1 which isn't an option on the FZ.
And finally, although the brake switch will work with the R1 master, there will be a slight delay between engagement and your brake light coming on. So if you tap your brake slightly, the brake light will not come on. You have two ways of dealing with this if this is something you cAre about. You can either open up the switch and modify it but cutting a small piece of plastic out or sand down the "nub" that makes contact with the brake lever. Check out Stoltec's build thread. He covered this modification in detail better than I can explain.
But I must say, it was 100% worth it. GREAT upgrade.

Can you link to that?
