I have ordered an R&G rad guard and it is in black. Now i need to get the oil cooler guard in black to match.
I was wondering if anyone has ever tried on painting the OEM oil cooler guard that's already on the bike black? I mean i can take it off and spray paint it black. what do you all think?

I much prefer an aftermarket one, which is A LOT more protective than the POS Yamaha put on the bike stock, with huge holes. But yeah, if you think it's enough, you could just paint it, and call it a day. But powder coating would last a lot longer, especially that low. The ones I bought at Amazon (slightly more expensive than the EvoTechs) have been great so far. And yes, matching grilles obviously look much better too .

I’m running the evotech stuff. I don’t see why you couldn’t spray paint it. Easy touch ups.

I shall look in to an Evotechs for the oil cooler guard.

It's better than nothing, but if you're going to buy a radiator one, might as well get the pair, no? That little guard is not expensive at all. I threw my stocker away, since it wasn't even worth the postage to give it away. Ha ha.
By the way, the ones I bought at Amazon, although nicer than the Evotechs IMO, required multiple adjustments to avoid the guards touching the radiator fins, which would cause punctures over time. Since the Evotechs reportedly don't require any adjustments, and are actually cheaper, I'd go with those instead. Good luck.
