Hi all I have a MT10SP 2018 done 10,000km, i have had the bike about 6 months and really enjoy riding the bike BUT....
Most of my riding is with mates out and around the Waikato district of New Zealand we ride to enjoy the country's twisty roads, my riding in these conditions is 5000-9000 rpm we don't hang around but limit speed to 130-140 kmh.
My issue is a vibration, very harsh building from 4000 rpm through to about 9000 rpm and then starts to fall away BUT mainly under load as you wind on the throttle on it gets really bad around 7000 rpm, the bars and pegs are fine the vibration comes up through the tank and seat.
If you pop in the clutch and free rev or blip the engine there is next to no vibration in that rev range, it's only under load say from 1/3 throttle on the more throttle the more the vibration .
Chain alignment is perfect, engine mounts are torqued up to spec, Exhaust is tight and mounted correctly on its rubber mounts, subframe is tight.
I have an Akra slip on and the Yamaha touring bags fitted.
Does anyone else have this issue
Thank you for your input..

Welcome to the forum!
I would recommend you consider an ECU Flash if you have not done so already. These bikes are tuned to the stock exhaust due to the emissions standards that greatly affect the bikes performance. When you change the slip on, you upset the back pressure and other settings that the ECU is trying to compensate for. Dyno sheets I've seen over the years sometimes even show a decrease of power after slip on installation.

Hey folks,
Having the same issue, came here for some advice. Bike is a 2018 MT-10 with 2.2k on the odo. I feel those vibrations in that 4.5-7k RPM especially when i roll on the highway, to the point that mirrors are blurry. Any advice?

I get enough vibration to blur my mirrors under hard acceleration but they clear up once at speed. I can live with it. Bike is flashed.

I can see the torque of these bikes destroying clutches under a clutch wheelie , I've restrained myself from doing that almost no need with the ease they come up up under power . With that systom I would want to investigate the clutch plates for sure especially if it had a prior owner .

I've owned my 2018 MT10 with 4500 miles on it now for a few months. Same issues as you guys. When I'm running it hard in the twisties or on a straight line blast it vibs a lot. Annoying as hell. I understand it has a light flywheel and crossplane crank but It's just kinda sucks with the vibrstion. Love the power and handling of the bike but I feel it definitely feels faster then it is with all the harsh vibration under load. I My go back to a zook with the silky smooth heavenly gsx engine. Not as cool sounding, grunty as the crossplane but IDk. Just hate the vibration of the MT.

I run the grip poppies that helped alot on my fz09 it had quite a bit more vibes. The 10 is so much smoother then it and the Duke and the twin sm . so far the smoothest machine I've owned so far I have only ridden inline 4 and yes they are silky but almost to smooth .

Yes inline 4s are silky but that's what I was use to and rode for 40 plus years. Gonna take me some time to get the feel of this crossplane.
