After reading this thread I preempted this hopefully, with 2500 Klms on the odometer I checked all the pan bolts for tightness. None were loose but I got 1/4 to 1/2 a turn out of at least 3 bolts.

Did you check the rear ones too? Apparently they require removing some stuff. Hey, do you remember the torque of those bolts from the top of your head? It'd save me having to look it over too . I want to check them too, but not sure if I'm willing to remove side stand and exhaust for the rear ones. Thanks.

If you can find the right size, you may want to look at the Smart-O drain plug. www.griffintoolsandsupply.com/Smarto.htmI think I over-torqued the drain bolts on my M109R causing them to seep, I tried the Smart-O drain plugs and they took care of the seeping. They also make it so the exact torque tightness isn't so critical.

2017 - Bought 8 months ago - 7,000 miles - just started to have what appears to be a slow pan gasket leak. Dropped off at shop yesterday - they're gonna start a claim with Yamaha - Dealer I bought it from new, however, never put any Customer Information in the warranty section of Yamaha Dealer Services portal.. so this is probably going to be a lengthy process. Joy. Pic is of back left side of pan (kickstand / rearset area)

This may sound daft but on those that clearly isn't the pan, have you looked at the drive sprocket. Take off the cover and there will loads of crap behind it. When warm or a loose flinging line is used it can build up and drop on the side stand and around that area. Last post pic is a classic example of what this can look like.

I have 6,200 miles on my 2019 MT-10 I picked up new just under 6 months ago and it just started to consistently leak oil from the rear side of the oil pan gasket by the kick stand. It is pretty disappointing from Yamaha for me.

I figure as much given how many I've seen leaking on the forums from the same place, let alone those who don't post on here.
It is an easy fix, but I dropped mine off at the dealer today for the repair. I was going to do it myself, but ehh, why not get a free oil change from when while they're at it, it was due for the next one anyhow.

Dealer that fixed mine told me that the gasket was just "crushed" in a few spots - odd for it being so new. Whatever - just glad Yamaha covers it.

I thought that’s the whole point. What's the whole point? For a gasket to be "crushed" ? More-over it was flattened in some spots more than others / had inconsistencies / was wavy / deformed / not uniform.

What I meant by that is the gaskets job is to to be crushed to make up for inconsistencies in the mating surfaces. That’s the whole point of the gasket.

Of course. What I was explaining was that the gasket itself had inconsistencies that were abnormal for the age of it. The inconsistencies that a gasket makes up for on a mass produced product like this are literally micro - or atleast theyre supposed to be.
