I was on YouTube the other day and came across a video of an FZ09 owner (linked below) that inverted the color on his display with a polarizing film. I'm highly considering doing it on my FZ10 because of the look and was curious what you guys thought about it or even better if anyone has done it!

Didn't know rotating the filter would make a difference. Learned something new today . Interesting mod indeed. So who's going to be the first to do it on an FZ/MT-10? Ha ha.

If it came like this, how many people would be switching to the "inverted lcd screen" I think its easier to see the way it is.

I like it. But I haven't been able to apply a screensaver successfully enough to attempt this. Nice video.

Contrast is great, but I have to say the perfectionist in me would be pissed at all the smudges you can see on that installation, either on or off. And it's not on the outside, is it, OP? I wouldn't attempt that unless I was pretty certain I could achieve an OEM-like installation. The good news is I can see mine perfectly under any lighting condition (at full brightness, that is), so this mod doesn't itch me in the least. He he. What I'd like to find is a nicer OEM-looking oil cap, preferably a 'security' one (needing a hex wrench, for instance), and not having any crap written on it .

Awesome! I'm curious as to how long you've had it done and if any problems have occurred with fading or anything like that over time?

I've been running it about 6 weeks. The high contrast film for two of those.
As this is not a colour tint it can't fade. It's a polariser that changes the way the screen displays when voltage is passed through the LCD crystals.
Sure it's not for everyone but I like it and enjoyed messing about with it getting it done.

I remember a thread over on the CBR1000RR forums back in 2009 or so like this, where a few owners were changing the backlighting of the LCD portion of their instruments by swapping out the LED's themselves. I do like this mod (and plan on doing it myself), it appears that the MT-10's standard background "white" is more of a warm white than a cool white (in LED parlance). I wonder if the backlighting LED's also can be unsoldered and replaced with a different color that still provides acceptable contrast against the black part of the display. They would need to be of the same voltage ratings, of course. I'd like my color inversion similar to that Triumph provides as standard on their Daytona 675:
