Hi everyone hope i dont make this too long im trying to pin point an issue with my FZ10. A few days ago i had to adjust my drive chain because it was loose or out of spec. After i did that i went for a little ride around town to make sure evrything was good. As i was riding i was coming to a stop light. So i shifted down until i was in first pulled the clutch in and as i was coasting i could hear and slighty feel a noise that sounded kinda of like either my rear tire was a little wobbly or something was slighty off. No vibration on the bike i coasted smoothly to a stop. I did this a few more times and the same thing. As i coast to a stop their is this sound as if something is not rotating smooth. It only does it coasting with clutch pulled in first gear. Bike shifts good up and down. Brakes as it should. No power loss engine runs and idles great. The sound is almost like my rim is off. Went home triple checked evrything made sure notches matched on both sides of the swing arm. Spun the tire to see if there was any binding or if it wobbled but cant seem to figure out what it is. Now lately ive notice a slight pulsation when braking and i changed my brake pads about six months ago and im wondering if it could have something to do with that. I still ride it to work about 80miles roundtrip and she purrs like a kitten shifts well evrything its just coasting in first gear to a stop. Has anybody expierienced this or maybe know what it might be? I really dont want to take it in but if i have to i will. The sound seems to be coming from the left side of the bike. Its not loud and it can be felt through the left peg and seat very slightly. I keep my bike well kept and pay close attention to noises and things that mat be off with my bike. Sorry i guess i made it too long after all my apologies.

Your chain after adjustment may be a bit on the tight side and when loaded with your weight you may be experiencing that tightness at very slow speed, especially since it is occurring on the left side.

Yep, if you noticed that effect after tightening the chain, it's too tight brother. You need to only put VERY LITTLE pressure on it. And if you adjust it on a stand, the spec increases from 20-30mm to 25-35mm. I'd shoot for the middle of that, even if doing it right, and by that I mean with very light pressure. If you use more force, you can get the chain to deflect 20mm, but it'd be way too tight. Hope this helps.

+1 on the chain could be tight.
Also, don't take offense this this but it's worth mentioning as I've seen mechanics do this. Make sure the adjusters are tight. The wheel could be slightly moving if there's a little bit of play or the nuts have worked slightly loose.

Ok yeah im going to loosen it a bit. Thats gottah be the reason why its doing that right after i adjusted it. Because i cant see any other problem going on with my bike. So thats has to be it. Hope this will rectify the problem. Also if your chain is to tight will tha effect the shifter by making it not have that smooth pop but feel a little more stiffer?
