I’m looking to know if I’m looking at any surprises when I change my left side engine cover as my got damaged and leaked oil from a high speed low side my engine and bar end sliders took most of the hit but the case was damaged

I've replaced covers but never a crankshaft case cover so I'm not sure. But generally, you're going to lose a little bit of oil as the case opens. Make sure there's no dirt or debris inside. Buy a new gasket and take extra care with it never to bend or deform it. Make sure both surfaces are clean before you reinstall the case with the gasket between.

Yeah, just be careful when undoing it, buy a new gasket, and you might want to add engine case protection when you button it back up.

I'd also torque the bolts to spec, to avoid messing up the gasket, so look that up. You could post a pic of before and after, to see the damage. I don't have engine case protectors either, but do have frame and axle sliders. You shouldn't have any issues replacing that cover if nothing was messed up inside. Check everything carefully. Good luck.
