Hi all, Just picked up my new MT10 last Saturday and am loving the bike so far. One thing is annoying me though and that is the distance between the shift lever and the foot rest. My other bikes are big cruisers and you can wear boots without any problem getting your foot jammed between the shift lever and the foot rest. Does anybody know if there is a shift lever extender or replacement shift lever that will add distance or should I just invest in some smaller riding shoes?
Thanks

I wear size 16 and always ride in boots and don't have a problem with the space. At first it felt kinda tight but I got used to it quick.

Looks like there is such a thing.
10mm isn't much but it might help.

The last thing I would put on my shift lever is a cheap Chinese knockoff, it's a pretty vital part that is used constantly. If it was more cosmetic I wouldn't care, but China isn't know for creating solid pure metal products, meaning they often have high amounts of impurities and are easily broken. I wouldn't put it on my bike!

I understand your sentiment. However , more than likely there are things on your motorcycle right now that were made in China. It's really hard to ferret it all out these days. For example, those fancy racing and riding jackets with the brand names on them are made cheaply in Pakistan & China and sold to the rest of the world as premium gear. I'm not against giving Chinese made products a chance especially if there is no alternative. I've purchased some great Chinese made stuff that no American company makes. I'm in a technical field so, electronics is one of them. If it makes you feel better not to that's OK too.

OP, did you try to adjust the lever up a little? That might solve your problem. I'd try that first; it's fairly easy. Good luck.
