Getting a new Michelin pilot road 5 rear tire today. Got 4500 miles out of the stock rear tire. I don’t notice any wheel weights on my rear wheel. Are these tires that balanced that the rear wheel does not need to be balanced. Will I be ok or do I need to order me some Ride-On wheel/tire balance and sealant or some dynabeads to balance the rear out. I will not allow any weights to be stuck onto my fluorescent wheels.

You need to balance it. The dealer who serviced/sold you the bike most likely skipped on balancing them, or you got really lucky with the tire being perfectly balanced with the wheel and air filler.
New tires usually have a yellow dot painted on them representing the lightedt point of the wheel. Aling thst one with your air nozzle to use as few weights as possible.
There are weights that you can clamp on the centre of the wheel, but atleast my dealer also balances it side to side, so they tape different amounts of weight on each outer edge to make it perfect.

I just leary bout clamping or sticking weights onto my Yellow fluorescent painted wheels and the next time I need a tire and the weights have to be removed and they take the paint off with them, it’s gunna look like crap. Mine came with no weights on the wheels from the factory and it rode perfect.

Guess you got lucky then. It shouldnt comprimise the paint, im pretty sure yamaha thought of that before choosing paint.
Most likely some fluid will take the sticker type off without a problem.

Mine came with wheel weights from the factory, they won't hurt the finish which is pretty tough. Anyway, you should order the pens from ColorRite to touch up the rims. I've had a few rock nicks which needed a bit of touch up. ColorRite paints for the fluro rims: 1043 Base coat, 1510 Light Leaf Green Solid 6 (LLGS6), and flat eggshell clearcoat. Worth the effort.

Yeah I got a few rock chips on mine also. The paint just doesn’t seem very durable on these wheels. Has anyone here ever use the dynabead balancing beads? I think the rear tire uses like 2oz.

The paint seems to be some sort of dusty substance. A little paint came off when i claybared my rims (not anywjhere mear the metal though).
I did use some chain cleaner to get off chain wax from the previous owner and that took a larger bit of paint off (again, not to the metal) from just swiping the chain cleaner soaked rag over.
A little heads up when you clean your chain, to make sure you rinse off your rim after.
However. A paint that chips off from wheel weights just wouldnt fly.
Eventually when ive got the higher priority mods (suspension upgrades and brakes) out of the way i will get some higher quality, lighter wheels. I like my blue color so i want hem in the same color as that. Same level of matte too.

Since it's more complicated to balance rear wheels (many different adapters, etc), factories don't like doing it, so they set a ridiculous threshold to avoid that. I believe if it's 50 grams or more, so rarely needed. But close to 50gr is a crapload in terms of smoothness. I always perfectly balance my wheels after a change. Not going to bother with the stock one, but many times that imbalance is responsible for hand and foot numbness. I believe the threshold in front is 10 grams, but also not positive. It's a lot less for sure. With both wheels perfectly balanced, the difference in smoothness is dramatic. A must on 'vibey' machines, but fortunately, the FZ/MT-10 is the smoothest I-4 motorcycle engine by far IMO.
EDIT: Forgot to mention my bike has 'clip-on' weights, which damage the wheel/paint when removed. Why not use stick-on weights instead? All my previous new bikes (upwards of 2 dozen) had those. Need to buy balancing equipment again, when tire change time comes. Will buy black weights as well.

Yeah, mine came out of the crate with wheel weights and I am going to paint them black to match the wheel.
