almost run in and going for first service next week and not sure if I have an issue when I hit 6K it has quite a deep vibration, not buzzing like most 4 cylinder bikes, mirrors completely blur but go through 6K and it clears thought this was just the normal character of the engine but looking on u tube vids it doesn't seem to happen with others, also no mention on here thoughts appreciated

Hey New owner as well and kinda wondering the same thing. I'm at just over 800k and find that it is no where near as smooth as my ole 03 FJR. I find in 5th or 6th gear with a somewhat hard roll on, from 4K it is vibrating and buzzing all the way up to 7-8k. I feel this engine through the tank, which is something I'm not use to at all. I'm sure guys with more mileage will chime in as this forum and its members have a wealth of knowledge. I'm really impressed at the level of detail that they share with everything FZ10/MT10! Welcome! Cheers

same here, mine virbates through the tank. have a look at this
4 mins and 5.15 dead smooth, and number of times says not much grunt, my last bikes were XJR's and my MT has plenty of grunt but lots of vibes, this video is 2017, maybe something has changed over the years, or needs more running in?
also got 40 mpg with quite a lot playing yesterday, okay not going much above 8K, can't complain but not what I expected

Mine is 2017 too, and I can also say this 4 banger is the smoothest I've owned, and I've owned over 2 dozen over the decades. However, due to its light flywheel, if you ask for power at lower rpm (the lower the worse), it vibrates in protest, feeling the power pulses until revs climb to above 4K or so. Finally, ALL inline-4 engines have an inherent vibration 'rough patch', but it's minimal on this bike. It's just a matter to avoid parking the tach in that area, and problem solved. OP, I'd try to ride another bike to see if it's something not quite right with your bike or not. Good luck.

I have to agree with elptxjc I think out of all the 4 bangers I've owned this one is the silkiest. Not sure if anyone else has started out in second gear but even then I don't get any real complaints from the motor. Maybe it's just me but this motor even with a light flywheel has fairly good torque compared to say the regular R-1.

just had my first service and things okay now, I had noticed that the vibes through the tank had gone but with more miles things have smoothed, mild resonance in the bars but no high frequency finger numbing virbration you get on some fours
loving this bike, best thing since an lc350 and that was a long time ago, very long

Mikey, I am having the same exact problem. Mirrors blur up and clear past 6k. This mostly happens at highway speeds. Did your problem completely go away and never came back? I have a 2018 MT-10 with 2.2k on it.
Any other suggestions gentlemen?

Hey Guys, I own a 2016 model, and currently am at 13000 Km. Had it tuned and dyno'ed at 10K. Regarding the vibration, the only issue I had and have is that if your in high gear 4-5-6 and your revs are below 5000, it does vibrate when you slam the throttle to accelerate. After 6-7000 revs the vibration disappears. Now if you work your gears revving up to and over 7K that vibration is very subtle. Various Yamaha workshops have told me this is normal. Same issue before and after the ECU flash. Just that after, the throttle is a lot smoother ( due to the air/fuel mixture adjustments). Vibration is still there in the 4-6000 revs with high gears. My 2 cents!
