Hello again. Bought Yamaha knuckle guards not knowing that the stock screen CANNOT be used. Really?! now I have to go spend more money? Poor design... SOOOOO.... I cut the stock screen to accommodate.... done and easy peasy... Now you can do it even better than I did base on my experiences.. SAVE SOME MONEY!! I mounted it all and saw the issue. Marked out the area to remove... masked it....jigsawed it...Dremel'd it a bit....used a knife to clean it a bit more.....installed... DONE! NOW.... suggestions.... I went with a large hole to give it a radius in the corner.... it was difficult to drill. I suggest just marking and use a Dremel to get the desired shape or even going with a small drill for the radius. The knife is a great way to clean it up. Just drag the knife edge and 'scrape' off the burrs and marks from the jigsaw blade...The more time you spend... the nicer it will look. My results will be tweaked after but for now, wanted to make sure it worked and others know about the possibility. The more time you spend the cleaner the look..... I was ready to buy what Yamaha wanted us to buy if it didn't work out but I am happy and will leave it. I DID add three thick washers and a longer screw to the little screw that mounts to the bracket on the knuckle guard assembly. This rotates it ever so slightly to clear the windscreen. You may even have to bend it up a little. Nothing to be concerned about. I cut it flush to the plastic so it guards need to be raised slightly to clear. I also cleared more than needed, so use my guide as a reference. Good luck...

I've been strongly considering ordering the knuckleguards for the 2018 MT10 that I just bought. But they are pretty difficult to get ahold of in the states.
Before I go through the trouble, do you know if they would be compatible with the Puig Touring windscreen without needing alterations?
Also, how was the install of the guards themselves (without having to alter the oem windscreen)? Was it easy or complicated? How do they work? Anything else I should know about them?
Thanks

My question would be, why do you need knuckle guards on a sport bike? What kind of situation do you run in to where knuckle guards come in handy? Asking for a friend, that's all.

I’ve considered them in place of heated grips. I don’t get cold from the temps when touring in winter as much as I do from wind blasting my hands. So if the knuckle guards stop the wind freeze blasting my hands I’d get them.
What a sports bike is to one is a tourer to another.

If you’re in the U.K. or Europe and want to do track days you now need to have a brake guard or knuckle guard before they will let you on track 😳
