I installed the YAMAHA MT-10 LEOVINCE CAT ELIMINATOR (LINK PIPE)
I'm getting an extreme amount of popping and bangs once i close the throttle. Is there anyway to lessen this prior to getting it tuned? Would removing the o2 sensors help?

I don't think removing the sensors will help, if anything that might throw an error code. I think you should have your ECU flashed, it should take care of the popping on decel.

I knew I was going to get some popping but this is a ridiculous amount. if i'm in the mid rpm range and let go of the throttle I will get at least a couple of pops or bangs. is that normal?

You need to get the ECU flashed and blockoff plates. The deceleration popping is coming from the AIS system which is attempting to burn off excess fuel upon deceleration to help with emissions.
I had terrible deacceleration popping. A buddy riding behind me said he would feel a shockwave pass through his body from the popping. I'm pretty sure I could cause panic of drive by shootings in certain neighborhoods before I got the flash and blockoffs.

I wish I would have experienced this atleast for a little bit before getting my ECU flashed. One thing I miss about my last bike was those decel pops.
