Thank you I've not changed out my mid pipe yet but as far as I know, the only things that would throw a code for that would be the O2 sensors and the motor for the in-pipe valve. Did you take out the motor under the seat? I'm pretty sure if you do you need a servo buddy to plug into the connection so it won't throw an error code. And to be clear, I'm not versed in this but from what I've seen/read I think my statement is at least 80% accurate.

Another option to get rid of the CEL is to flash the ECU. I know with my Ftecu harness I can go in and tell it what parameters to ignore causing a CEL. And I'm not sure if that would contribute to not being able to change modes on the 10-SP. I know with my 10 it just locks out cruise control for most CEL parameters.

Is it because it's unplug? Sorry, I just bought the bike and am unsure about this .

From a few install videos I've seen you can unplug the valve (the cable running down to the pipe) and remove it, but you have to plug the motor back into the plug under the seat or else it will throw an error code. I think the other option is to buy a servo buddy and then you can remove the motor all together. www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/servo-buddy-yamaha

It still shows error code and still can't change modes.

I'm not sure what to tell you, if no one else here has a solution you might need to take it to a dealership and have them check it out, sometimes when you get error codes they wont go away until they are reset, usually by a dealership/service shop.

Once you have a code you have to clear it, even if the fault is fixed the code won't go away on its own.

You can clear the codes yourself if you get a OBD2 reader and a Yamaha 4 pin converter. Just had to do this myself as I unplugged the air temp sensor and made the mistake of turning the bike on. Figured I may as well get one as I'm sure it's not the last fault code I'll get...
