Just wanted to throw this out there in case it happens to someone else. Last week I was on a memorial ride and we got hit by some pretty good rain. Not sure if this had anything to do with what happened but it did coincide with what did.
The other day I was on my way for new tires (Pilot 5's) and tried to set the cruise control. It just flashed on the dash and wouldn't set.
Didn't think about it at the time and when I got home I decided to see what could have caued this. In my head the first things that came up were front brake, rear brake, clutch since they would all cancel the cruise.
Quickly realized that the front brake switch was the culprit, seemed to be sticking on (rear brake light stayed on when lever was realeased). So I proceeded to clean it first with some WD-40 then used some dielectric grease to help it. So far seems to have done the trick.
Anyway if that happens to you start there unless you did a ecu flash or something else.

Good tip. Thanks. May I ask how you went about greasing those buggers? Did you force the grease repeatedly thru the gap between switch and housing, then pushing repeatedly the switch all the way in to drive the grease more? I ask because it could be a good preventive measure to do that now, to avoid any switch issues. Thanks.

Yes, I used a q-tip to really get the dielectric grease on the micro switch then used an emery board to move the switch in an out repeatedly. This was easier than constantly pulling on the brake lever
