SB 435 the Motorcycle Anti Tampering law has got me re-thinking an exhaust as the muffler will have to have an EPA approved stamp (more $$$ for the EPA) or the rider is subject to a fix it ticket and fine on bikes made after 1/1/2013. This has me re-thinking an exhaust, might just have to go de-cat only.

I kinda like the sound of the stock exhaust to be honest. Man, everyone on my street is from California and too many laws are what chased a lot of them away. Cali also shut down a bunch of great Dirtbike trails too over the years. It's their plan to clean the air there, crate so many laws and taxes that everyone just moves away!

I think we are out of California as soon as we are able. I can think of at least five families I know that have left this state this last year.
What's really repulsive about the trail closures is the areas with the trails that are closed under the guise of "saving the environment" are actually then leased logging companies and clear cut. This is how the USFS makes money. I've seen it first hand. You can also look at Google earth and see the clear cut patches.

I GTFO of SoCal over 10 years ago, after being a lifetime resident.
Best move I ever made, making much more $ here and the access to awesome roads is unparalleled. The winters kind of suck, but that is maintenance and upgrade season for me.
YMMV

Funny, I'm moving my family to Cali next year. My FZ-10 is an AZ bike so I think I need to have 7500 miles on it in order to be exempt from the Cali emission regs. It should also preclude me from the exhaust restrictions as well I think.

I heard that they banned two strokes, but that cant be true right? There is a red sticker and a green sticker season. Two strokes are all red sticker after 2002. 4 stroke MX bikes are red sticker as well. Most places I ride you can ride red sticker bikes all year.

I was just up in Sacramento on a business trip. It is amazing that such a beautiful city houses such an inept group of mouth breathing morons that are the political "leaders" of California.
How these drooling 'tards get re-elected every year is simply amazing to me, and proof that the gene pool is incredibly muddy, and needs a serious enema....
