So I had my bike apart for the past week or so. I installed a new PipeWerx exhaust, removed the AIS and put block off plates on, got the ECU flashed, and I swapped out my tail light for an integrated one. After I went on a quick (and very cold) trip around the block last night I came back and this bushing was laying on the ground outside my garage. It must have been stuck up in the bike somewhere and as soon as I took off, fallen out. It looks like one of the rubber bushings where the existing exhaust mounted up at first glance, but this piece is metal, not rubber. Any insight as to what this is and whether or not I need to disassemble my whole bike again to put it back on? haha

I browsed some of the exploded parts diagrams and I think it might be part #4 here. I'm not positive though because I didn't do the tail light. I was working on getting the gas tank back on when a friend was working on the tail light. I'll have to check when I get home, but maybe someone can confirm my suspicions. www.babbittsonline.com/oemparts/a/yam/5762d29a87a86610f0f7756f/taillight

Thanks for the reply. I'm hoping that's what it is, but based off a tail light swap video I just watched it doesn't look like that's the same piece. I guess I won't know for sure until I can get home and pop the seat off.

Yes, I removed my stock exhaust. That looks promising based on what I did and the drawing, although I can't tell exactly where that's supposed to mount in to. It calls it a "collar", which it is, but if it has anything to do with the muffler I just can't tell where it came off of based on that drawing because it's the "frame" drawing. Maybe my eyes/brain are just not processing this drawing well lol. I wonder if anyone could take a pic of this installed on their bike if they know where that is.

Actually... just figured out that I don't think that's it. In my OP I said it looked like the rubber bushings, but was metal (which is what I think that is on the frame diagram you linked).

I second the muffler theory. This looks like the spacer that sits inside the rubber mounts for the Cat. They just slide in so if you didn't pull them out they would stay in there for a while. There are two one of each side from memory...
