I was wondering if anyone's found someone manufacturing hotter cams for the fz10. Not that I'm desiring such a thing but I found it a cool idea, a hotter drop in cam set maybe a gasket too. I've heard of for example, one generation of the speed triple being greatly improved by just such a drop in cam kit. Saw on one of their forums some personal R&D and the forum communities suprise at how much an increase it gave. Obviously not talking about cams in conjuction with super or turbo charging. I'm just curious how much " room " there is to improve on the stock fz10 cams. From what I hear there isn't much.

Well , i was looking into that when i did the engine swap. All mt10 and fz for all mekets got some cams . All R1 (R1S and R1M) got aswel the same cams.(eraly models got another spare part numbers due differences on the valves train) I did not found companies for such hot cams.
Did my own regrinding oem R1

That's a LOT of work isn't it? How did you find a cam orofile that gave more performance but didn't damage the engine? Wouldn't that be a lot of research and developement?

Have any dyno charts with the torque curve to share? I'm very curious.

If you have any charts I'd really like to see them. That kind of stuff is what I really enjoy. I might consider doing something similar.

I did the r1 engine swap cause i have two MT10 , sometimes the OEM engine for street use or commuting is way better. If i´m thinking at all the money and the time i spent , well , dunno if i´m gonna make another time something like that........

I pondered putting an R1 motor in the fz10 just to have the six-axis IMU, TFT display, the lift and auto launch features along with all the customizable settings. I figured I'd give the final drive a very short ratio to make it closer to the fz-10's torquey and not so top end focused powerband. Or perhaps not, I might like a true superbike engine character in the upright and comfier package. Is that similar to what your motivations were?

I did also a mix of that , no tft display but keeping the IMU and yes you are right i prefer the upright position for street use and commuting.
