I’m trying to install LighTech rear sets and was advised that I’d need to replace the brake light switch if I wanted to maintain stock rear brake light functionality. I can’t find any instructions as to how I replace and install this brake light switch. I have completely removed the stock right rear set and can’t figure it out. Thought it would be a reasonably straight forward install on New Years Eve 😡 Thanks for your help!

That replaces the banjo bolt in the rear master cylinder Sadly, I just attack these things cause I’ve been able to figure it out. Is the banjo boot the boot pictured going into the top? If so, where does the wiring on the other end is the banjo bolt replacement connect to? Thank you sooooooo much!

The wiring has to be spliced into the wiring that went to the old brake light switch, asin, cut off the old switch, attach the new one.

I believe it should be green with yellow trace and yellow with black trace. Trim back the insulation and check before you hack it off

There’s an all black, an all white, a yellow with white & a yellow with black. Sorry for the crappy clarity. As close as I could zoom.

Yeah that's why I wanted you to check, I'm thinking there is some possible cruise integration in there. I've only used one of those switches on a non cruise bike before now and haven't tackled any of it on the MT yet. Looks like rear brake light, front brake light and clutch switch are all integrated into the cruise. Sorry but now it's outside of my working knowledge... Hopefully someone else who has fitted rearsets has managed to solve it and can tel you how.

With lightech you will need to built your own bracket for the oem brakelight/CC switch , or do the relay conversion . They know about that , but they still selling this shit....
P.s. also for both brake switches you will have 4 cables brake light/CC for the clutch side four for QS/CC

Are you aware the switch you are replacing it´s working other way round than the pressure one you have got? You can use the pressure one but you need to use a relay like here : fz10.org/thread/1905/brembo-rcs-19-succesfully-wiredOR: You need to build your own bracket for the oem switch. You need to find another switch and build your own bracket That´s why i wrote "They know about that , but they still selling this shit...."

I have no idea what this all means, so that I can actually get it fully functional. I had already bought the R1 front master brake cylinder that I haven’t installed yet as well and very worried that it may also have something to do with the rear brake switch issue. I have installed the LighTech rear sets already with no brake light switch connected. Thanks so much for trying to explain. I really appreciate it.

When i did study the swap of the r1 master cylinder on early 2016 did it with the intention of a direct swap. and that is , just refit on your new master the oem switch and you will have no issue.
About your rearset , you have this easy choice : Do your own bracket for the oem switch Using the pressure switch they gave to you , you will need to rewire and add a relay.
If you are unable , i´m afraid you will need to go on some workshop.
As i stated , lightech it´s far away from be a seriuos company , selling this kind of parts .
Bit too late now for you....

I’m going to try to figure out how to make my own bracket for the oem switch and rewrite and add a relay. I don’t know what a relay is or what needs to be rewire, but I’m going to try to figure it out. The pressure switch the vendor sold me was a Woodcraft pressure switch. Thanks again!

If you gonna use your oem switch (the one that came with your MT10 2018) you do not need to rewire and fit a relay.... the one with four cable which still connect on your bike
If you gonna use the woodcraft switches , the seller gave to you , you will need to fit a relay and rewire the whole shit. the one with two cables the one the seller gave to you
if you have no clue , my suggestion is : bring the bike to a workshop instead to do some damages

looks like in the new version of the rerset they provide a bracket to fit the oem switch and on the brake pedal there is a little screw for fitting the spring to active the switch www.lightech.it/documenti/ftrya011.pdf

I’ll double check. Thanks I’ve emailed Lightech for brake light connection. Instruction. Although my order was brand new in the last few weeks, maybe they sent me an older model. I’m hoping they’ll do the right thing and offer to replace with the new model that uses the stock brake light switch. It’s totally unreasonable that I should have to mess with my wiring because I chose to buy Lightech. Thanks again
