Yeah it was between the Tuono and FZ-10 when I was shopping for bikes. From what I hear, the Tuono gets even worse gas mileage than FZ-10.

People confuse brake feel with brake performance. I've hammered the brakes and I think they work great. Check Fast Bikes' BJ's blog on the MT-10 and he states that changing to Brembo Road/Track pads are all the bike needs.
Personally, I've seen too many Aprillas broken down at the track to ever consider one for a daily ride. They are great bikes for sure, but I had no problem hanging with the RSV4's at Laguna Seca and Sonoma Raceway on my R6.
People who judge the FZ-10 as a racebike are missing the point completely. If you want a racebike, go get an R1.

I think this video sums up the MT-10 and how user friendly it is, A solid front end inspires you to ride faster and rewards you with a direct line, no fuss. I don't see any problems with the brakes yet, I'm still exploring the outer limits of braking and find the back end shifting more under brakes than the front not having enough. Probably upgrade to new pads when needed.

Couldn't really justify the $20000+ price tag (after taxes, freight, pdi) on Tuono Factory even though the paint scheme was sexy and you got Ohlins electronic suspension. There is no Aprilia dealer anywhere near me either so maintenance and parts would have been an absolute pain. Kudos to Yamaha for 42k km valve clearance check intervals.

Yeah I know brake performs when you use death grip on lever or with track pads. 10 is only sport bike I have to use rear brake every stop sign. I'm planning to put vesrah brake pads once stock one is done. I'm just disappointed how the bike comes off the dealer floor. It has so much potential due to restrictions from factory. But it still put smile on my face every time I ride.

My ktm has brembo brakes and they set the bar pretty high.

I used Vesrah RJL's on my last two track bikes, they were stellar. If I can't find these Brembo Road & track pads I'll try the RJL's on the 10.
My '05 GSXR1000 was pretty notorious for bad brakes. I had a Brembo 19x18 master on mine, braided lines, R1 calipers and EBC floating rotors. I also had an '07 KTM Super Duke with a full Brembo set up. I like good brakes. It does take a "death grip" to stop the 10, but it definitely does stop and these brakes work well. Definitely better than my FZ1. Not sure why Yamaha decided not to use a radial master.
