For the money, I decided on these pair of stands if my 2 concerns are not an issue on my 10: www.motodracing.com/race-stands . Otherwise I'd get the Abba stand with front bar for almost twice the money ($150 vs $285). It'd hurt, but a MUCH better buy IMO than an equally expensive pair of Pitbull stands. I just don't like them that much, but to each his own, of course. Back to the subject. My 2 concerns of that Moto-D front stand are: 1. Can the front wheel be removed with the fingers under the forks? It looks like yes, but rather ask. And is the bike safe with that kind of adapters? I wouldn't sit on it, of course. Moto-D owner said you could leave bike for months on both stands and zero issues with bike, spools, or stands. 2. But more importantly, does the left (as sitting on the bike) rear finger clear the ABS sensor? I'm talking about the finger covering the entire bottom of the fork. It wouldn't interfere if you only grab half the fork bottom, but no way I'd deem that safe. If the finger can't fit the entire bottom of the forks, I'd pass. The fingers are 3/4" in diameter, and the distance between front and rear fingers is 1-1/2". It's hard to figure out how the stand would sit on my bike, but it'd be very close IMO. The good thing is I'd only use the front stand with the rear in place, so you can be very careful when trying it out. Owner said it should clear, and he'd accept a full return, but need to ask who pays for shipping if it doesn't. But I'd feel a lot better if other similar stands clear. The best option would be the pin under the fork adapters, but I'd need their $250 'Pro' steel set. For that money, I'd get the Abba. I like their race stands because they're super light, very strong (rated at 950 lbs), and are a good match for the bike, especially compared to the super ugly Pitbulls. He he. Finally, my research indicates we better steer clear of the 'head' front stands, since they either bang the fender, fairing, or both. Or are extremely close. Is this correct? Just out of curiosity, since I don't intend to ever have to mess with the forks. And they're super intrusive for anything else. All comments welcome. Many thanks.

I have no experience with those stands. But I wouldn't trade my Abba skylift for any stands on the market. Before I got the skylift for a Christmas gift I had decided on just the Abba front and rear stands setup. Good luck on your decision. My vote pay extra now, be happy for years.

They should not be an issue for taking the axle out. Those stands are a little less stable then say triple tree stands so you should be doing all of the loosening of bolts while the front tire is on the ground and merely just lifting it up to finish loosening the axle and taking it out.
I use a triple tree stand from pitbull with the pins. And yes, it will make contact with the fender if you're not careful. The pitbull stand head has some softer material around it to mitigate this, but I still throw down a microfiber towel on top of my fender whenever I use it and this seems to have prevented getting any scratches or scuffs on the fender.
Personally, I always recommend going with a triple tree stand. It basically gives you the ability to do your own forks or at least take them off to bring them to somebody and save a little bit on labor costs. (If you look at it that way, they will eventually pay for themselves). The Triple Tree stand is also a lot more sturdier for tire removal and tire warmers at the track. With the aggressiveness that I ride all my bikes, I have to do my forks almost yearly. With two bikes, the stand has paid for itself and then some.
Finally, for my track bike I went with a side stand. SVRacing on Ebay makes good ones for $250. The one he makes for the R1 or the other FZ bikes might fit out FZ10 if he didn't already make a kit for the FZ10. This stand is awesome and makes dealing with tire warmers at the track very easy. I could completely get rid of my pitbulls if I wanted to but since I got my pitbull stands so cheap and used, I still keep them. The side stands have some sway in them when you're working on the bike. Not much but enough that you may prefer to do bike maintenance on actual front and rear stands like I do.
Good luck with your choice! Glad you're doing a lot of research on it. If you pick right, you should have the stands for life!

Thank your for your comments to both of you; greatly appreciated. Very good points made. To make my final decision, I want to hear from somebody using the finger/roller type of front stand on the 10, to make sure the fingers clear the ABS sensor. I wanted that set of stands because they're very good stands at a decent price. But I'm obviously weighing all pros and cons before making my final decision. The Abba is not an easy stand to use, and that's a big detraction, or I'd have probably bought it already. Don't think I'd ever have to remove the forks, but it's a good point for the Abba. Would never pay more for 2 Pitbull stands (front triple-tree and rear) than the Abba, so Pitbulls, as mentioned many times, are completely out of consideration for me. With the Abba, no risk of damage, plus there'd be absolutely no obstruction at the front, like with a freaking triple-tree stand in the way of working around the bike. And already have a chock if I ever needed to work on the left side of the bike, where the Abba mounts. Will check out the SVRacing stand, but it's almost as much as the Abba, and never heard of it before. Thanks again for all the help. Now just want to know if the front roller stand can be used on our 10. That's probably what will make the decision for me, but will keep you posted.

I have had the same PitBull stands for 20+ years. They have paid for themselves twice over. I had a cheaper one before (can’t remember brand now), that was a lot less confidence inspiring. The PitBull triple stand is a little awkward the first few times you use it to line up the pin, but rock solid. I also throw down a rag like RedAndBlack mentioned to save accidental contact. I really don’t feel they are in the way, then again it’s what I’m used to. I have had both wheels off, forks off etc with no issues. I also have a Craftsman motorcycle jack that I use on my Harley. Not even close to the confidence of the PitBulls, but I did have the forks off the Harley with it. The Abba Skylift looks awesome. Never tried it since my current setup works for me.
