So ive been wondering, ever since i got my mt flashed and the fueling done ive noticed that it smells a lot more at the exhaust and also spits out little black spots all around the opening. The guys that did my reflash are well known and have nothing but good reviews so id assume they know that they are doing. I was told that my bike was running quite lean at stock and was something like 15.5 to 1 ratio. After the custom map they have it sitting around 13.5 to 1 now. My questions is, does anyone know if thats too rich or just right or? They told me that is a good spot for fuel for these bikes but with the smell and the black stuff im not so sure. I could just be paranoid because im worried about it messing up the cat and blocking it.

As in little black spots what do you mean is it like soot or an actual black looking liquid! As for the smell I can see it being a little more without a cat but excuse me if I’m wrong but you said you still have your cat on? The smell could be because you were used to smelling it when it was lean now that they made it slightly more rich it’s probably gonna smell a little bit more!

I’m running the yoshi Alfa t 3/4 exhaust along with 2wdw flash and ftecu active tune and my exhaust puts out a very strong exhaust fumes now. My fuel mileage suffered around town bout 22-25miles to the gallon. On hwy I can get 35-40mpg runnning 70mph. Mine definitely runs richer. Not sure if the strong exhaust smell is normal or not with the flash and active tune.

Little black spots a probably liquid mixed with the exhaust dust. Im not sure if the liquid is fuel or if its just condensation. My fuel economy has basically stayed the same though. Im just looking for info because i was riding with some people and one guy stuck his finger in the exhaust and it came back out covered in black dust and so he told me its probably running "too rich". Thats why i wanted to see if anyone on here knew whether or not a ratio of 13.5 to 1 was too rich. Im pretty sure all exhaust pipes have black soot all over the inside of them but better to be sure.
