I put a set of hotbodies racing rear sets on my Fz-10. The rear brakes never fully worked right because the brake arm could never be adjusted up to get intant grsbbing on the shoes....as a result. You had to press the brake lever 3/4 down before it grabbed the brakes....very annoying...when i put new shoes on I adjusted the brake arm up unknowingly causing the brake shoes to ride the disc aggressively....i melted the caliper and disc on the freewsy when it got red hot. I had to rebuild the caliper, new shoes, and a new disc. My mechanic can not get the brakes to stop from dragging and he has adjusted the brake arm several times, replaced the fluid, etc. I have no idea what is causing this and its frustrating. I was hoping someone could weigh in on ghis because if i cant figure it out i have to go back with my factory pegs.

If you're cleaning you're not riding

Are the shoes the same thickness at the OEMs? Also make sure the caliper pistons go back into the housing all the way. You may need to suck some brake fluid out of the reservoir when you test the piston movement.

Something may be amiss when you rebuilt the caliber, or perhaps something got warped during the heat excursion. I wonder if going back to the original pegs will actually solve your issue.

If the rear brakes never worked right did you take it back to the stealership and tell them or did you buy the bike used! In any case sounds like somethings not put together right for that to happen! Have you tried taking the caliper off and inspecting it? I know you said the mechanic looked at it and couldn’t find the prob. Maybe get a second opinion from a different mechanic

I have a feeling something got warped in the caliper. When my mechanic rebuilt everything I took it for a test ride and made it 200 miles before they actually stuck again ruining a second disc because it was glowing red. (very odd to make it 200 miles with no issues and all of a sudden stick with a few brake jabs of the lever) I took the bike home and parked it. I dug my old factory pegs out of a box and told my mechanic to put these back on because I'm tired of tinkering with this china crap rear sets. I found a rear caliper that only had 1300 miles on it eBay (was wrecked). I also bought the master cylinder the guy had as well. This should fix the issue because everything is factory. Ill let you guys know what happens on Wednesday.
