I can't find fault with the Bridgestone S20's for everyday riding on city roads. The city roads where I live are in fairly good condition so they don't tear the tyres apart, also done two track days with them and they have lasted well and I reckon the bike handles fine. I'll probably get about 9000 kilometres out of them and then put on the S21's. I have Pirelli SC1's on my R6 track bike, great tyre and grip but they just don't last.

The Yamaha '18FZ-10 comes fitted with the S20s and according to my perf mechanic, we're fairly much splitting hairs. But when you're up for some new tread (and I) give them a shot, as I will too.

I think they’re a perfectly fine tire but I moved from them to some Michelin Pilot Road 4’s on my FZ07 and I absolutely loved them. After installing them I legitimately felt like I had more confidence and I also felt like I got more response from how the bike was reacting to the road.
Granted my only riding is either commuting or some mountain carving on the weekends. But the pilot roads also seem to be pretty durable wear wise. Take this all with a grain of salt though because I’ve ever only ridden on the battleax’s ir the Pilot roads.

Their performance is good but the wear is poor, my rear was toast at 3,000 miles. Changed to Road Smart 3's and the wear is superior and very good feel for the type of riding I do. Won't go back to the S20's.

Dunlop are good motorcycle tires, but Dunlop is much better at manufacturing "Wah-Wah" pedals for electric guitar players, like me . . .

I've decided on trying the new Metzler RR tires when I need replacement. Have had great luck with the brand in the past.

I went with the Metzeler M7RR's, 120/70 and 200/55. Most of my riding is commuting or spirited street. I went from the Pirelli Supercorsa SP V2 on my BKing to the M7RR's. The M7RR's seemed to give up very little to the Pirelli's on the street, I'm sure track performance would be different. And the M7RR's being designed to handle less than perfect conditions, makes a great all-around tire.

I just put on some Dunlop Q3+ tires and took it to the track and the were head and shoulders better than the stock rubbers. I'm not sure about durability yet so we'll see how that goes.

I plan to go with the q3's also. Loved the q2's I had on my last bike. Have you done much street riding with them yet?

I just heard Dunlop is about to launch Q4s
I was a Q2 guy but switched over to the S20s/S21s. They have the same tire grip, but there is more "feel" for the road in Bridgestone's tires. Which is consistent with "Dunrocks" reputation.
The stock tires are absolutely one of the best sport tires in the market for its price point. People who do more commuting and casual riding won't like them, because of their wear but they are overkill for that type of riding anyway. So if you do that type of riding, I do not recommend sticking with them. You're throwing money away.
But for people who want and need max grip, the stock tires are the best out there for the price they are offered. Some of Pirelli's tires might offer you a bit more grip, but not at the price point that the stock tires do.

My stock S20's were done by 3500 miles. I switched to S21's and got 6000 miles. Better wear and feel. Just put on a fresh set at about 10,000 miles. Feel does goe away at the end of their life but new they are great! great price at rider's domain where they are on sale with a rebate once or twice a year.

I am running Bridgestone T30 Evo's on mine front and rear. Been using the GT version for about 30,000 miles on 2 different FJR's. Only difference being the FJR calls for the "GT" version, which is rated for a heavier bike. I LOVE the feel of the T30's on the FZ-10 and think I can probably get 7-10,000 miles out of them!!
And like others have stated, when the Bridgestone rebate is running I can buy a set of tires for a little over $200.00 after the rebate. Pretty hard to beat.....

Just one week of freeway commuting and one big canyon riding day plus two track days. The canyon riding felt considerably better, felt about the same on the freeway.

"Holy Birthday cake, Batman . . ."
Well my ultimate Yamaha '17FZ-10 tire quest is over (at least for me and for now).
My perf mech here in Kearney Mesa set me up with several bikes from his shop (he's got dozens of race and sport bikes on his campus), liter bikes that is. All fitted with the following:
1) Pirelli Angel GT (beautiful for canyon and straight away flying) 2) Pirelli Diablo SuperCorsa SP-V2 (excellent grip but not much shelf-life) 3) Pirelli Diablo Rosso III (outstanding but I feel best for track conditions) 4) Metzeler Roadtech Z8 (didn't care for these at all) 5) Michelin Power RS (more of a upgraded pilot, but still very nice) 6) Michelin Road 5 (CAN YOU SAY *WINNER*)
And the winner is (for me of course):
"Michelin Road 5"
I must say, I felt a world of difference between the MR5 and my BattLax S20s. No comparison and well worth the coin.

I've still got to wear through the stock tires and a spare set of Q3's sitting in the garage. After that, I'll be aiming for a sport touring set for the stock wheels. I've had good experience with the older Dunlop Roadsmarts and Michelin Roads before. Let us know how you like the 5's as you get some miles on them

Unfortunately after some research I dont think the q4 is for me. It is a track day tire with a single compound for superior track grip. So it will most likely flat spot the center and wear out much quicker than the q3+ when street riding. Also read it isn't replacing the q3+, just an additional category of tire. So in the end I will be going with either the s21's or q3+. Most like the q3

I've been using the Bridgestone R10's on my track bike for a while (not tried the R11 yet) and they are great. For day to day road riding I find the S20 a really good tyre. Good feedback, warms up quickly and gives you confidence.
Think I'll be sticking with them when it comes to change, well in all honestly I'll go for the new S21.
