Hey guys and girls, New to the forum and the Mt10. Picked up a brand new 18 black and blue mt10 last Wednesday and am loving it to bits. I would like to ask if anyone knows how to adjust the headlight on these bikes. The manual is pretty useless and since I have had the suspension set up the light points up too much now and I keep getting flashed by people lol.
If no one knows that's okay, she's going for her first service next Thursday, will ask them to show me how it's done as well as look at why it has trouble starting up when it's warm

Yeh some quick reading seems to point towards some sort of bladder in the tank that is faulty from the factory. If left in heat it will expand and stop fuel from going to the lines or something like that. As for the headlight adjustment, looking at the back of the lights closely, I can't see any screws there for adjustment. These lights might not be able to be adjusted. Hopefully that isnt the case.
I should also say that since it started having this starting issue the bike also feels like it's down on power. I noticed it mainly in mode 1 where it isn't as snappy and punchy as it was. So could very well be some sort of fuelling issue.

Huh.
I have not had issues when it’s warm. It’s 100 degrees here already, and the bike sits in direct sun all day at work (I’m considering buying a cover, but what a pain). Anyway, it starts and runs perfectly every time. I haven’t heard/read of an issue either.

Just spoke to a guy that had the same issue, they ended up replacing the whole fuel pump under Warranty. The bladder is attached to the pump, expands and restricts fuel flow.
I should also mention that if I ride the bike to work, leave it in the sun all day and start it up when going home, it's fine. It's. Mainly when the bike has been ridden and turned off for like 15mins to half an hour. Once the bike cools down after a couple hours it's fine.

If my bike could travel at the speed of light, would my headlights work?

I would suspect that just opening the tank to release the expansion pressure before starting in those conditions might help until it can be fixed properly.

I live in a hot environment and my bike has fired up every time the start switch is hit in over a year of use except for one time after leaving the bike in the sun, being a black bike I just put it down to a natural occurrence of fuel evaporating in the lines. After a few pumps of the throttle and pushes of the start button in purred back to life with no further issues. I also haven't heard of anyone having major ongoing problems with fuel delivery before, but like any manufactured part no-one has a 100% strike rate. As for the head light I can't see how an adjustment to the suspension would be the cause as there is a noticeable difference between the angle of high and low beams. Maybe drivers are flashing you as they think you have a light out lol.😊

I have the whole front end of my bike unassembled, so I can grab a photo for you. I can't recall if there are adjusters on the back, but if they are it may be a bit difficult to get to - may have to get in there with extensions or removing some parts. I didn't pay particular attention to this but I have the headlight assembly off to the side so ill take a look once I have it back in front of me.

Thanks for the replies guys, pics of the assembly would be nice. The reason it needs adjustment is because when you start adding or subtracting preload from the front and rear it changes the height of the front and rear. So I added some preload to the front and a bit less than the front to the rear. This raised the front of the bike more than the back so now the headlight beam is pointing up more then it was before. So to counter this most headlights have adjusters that let you change the angle of the headlight. All my bikes have had it including my 300, so I'd assume the MT has it too but it's just different or hidden. Like I said the owners manual is pretty useless and keeps saying to take the bike to Yamaha and have them do stuff.
