Hey guys, so I did the block off plates, danmoto y pipe (cat delete) and ECU reflash. The bike is an absolute rocket. As if it wasn't fast before, its ludicrous now.. well my exhaust is just too darn loud for my liking. I want to quiet it down. Should I put my cat back on and send my ECU back to 2wdw? I did like the stock sounding exhaust. Can I run my cat with the block off plates? What recommendations do you guys have?

Have a read through this fz10.org/thread/1370/stock-cats-remove?page=1&scrollTo=10130 I have a decat link pipe fitted with the OEM end can at the moment, so i know how loud your set up is, removing the cats from the original box is a halfway solution, not as harsh sounding as a decat link pipe. Haven't decided my self if i will stay with the decat link pipe or put the decated OEM box back on, i will have a word with my neighbours and see what they think.

I did like the stock sounding exhaust. Can I run my cat with the block off plates? What recommendations do you guys have? Are you wanting to stay with the stock muffler? If not, maybe find one you like that has a db killer available. The Hindle 3/4 system with the Evolution muffler and the db killer installed sounds very similar to the stock exhaust. So if you can find a muffler you like that will work with the Danmoto y-pipe and install the db killer, that might get you were you want to be. You also may be able to find a muffler with a quieter core. That's the route I went, I got the Hindle 3/4 system, but ended up getting their "Euro Stealth" muffler because the Evolution muffler was too loud for me. The Euro Stealth muffler is no where near as quiet as stock, so if that is what you're looking for, you're probably better off finding a muffler with a db killer. You can/should leave the block-off plates installed, they don't really have anything to do with the exhaust itself, and the AIS would have been disabled in the ECU flash.

Pipe worx decat system for the R1.. Very long can so should be a hell of a lot quieter than most 3/4 systems.. Plus comes with a baffle and the system looks sick and is cheap

I would agree with Pipe Werx, I had their R11 muffler on one of my other bikes. Looks great, sounds great, great quality at a good price. They will actually custom make their mufflers to your specifications, if you want something a little different. Believe it or not, I had their R11 muffler on my Suzuki M109R. If I ever decide to change from the Hindle system, it will be Pipe Werx.

Get in contact with your exhaust vender and get a silencer or have them order it for you. All motorcycle exhaust manufacturers offer this option.

I put the stock cat back on, still have block off plates installed. Got the ECU back from 2wdw. Now I can actually hear something other than the loud exhaust. Bike still has just as much power as when the danmoto y pipe was on. Now it is just much quieter bit still has that nice stock exhaust note.

Just in reference to this post , I have the stock can and all parts from headers back. If anyone wants to revert their loud exhaust system back to stock or some stock parts. I am in Canada so it might be a bitch on shipping though. I have the 2 Brothers 3/4 Carbon system. Loud as fuck and I love it.
