Am about to put a deposit down on an SP model so am trying to sort out a few mods.
I've read that some people don't find the Yamaha comfort seat as much of an improvement over the stock seat. Can anyone shed some light as to which is the comfier seat between the Yamaha comfort seat and the Seat Concepts one?

The comfort seat is a massive improvement over the stock seat. Its comfortable haha. I've never tried the Seat Concepts seat but the user I bought the comfort seat from "Enzo" had the comfort seat and switched over to the Seat Concepts. He told me that comfort seat had a bit more forward lean, sloping and pushing you a bit more to the tank while seat concepts was more flat and had less material to the passenger seat area. Don't think you can go wrong with either choice.

Cheers mate. So how do you find the comfort seat in regards to pushing you into the tank?

I can't really tell the difference but i sit very close to the tank anyways. Only thing that matters is that my buttocks enjoy the comfort seat a lot more than the stock seat.

Morning!
I have had both seats on my FZ10. And while the Seat Concepts kit looks better, the Yamaha comfort seat is WAY more comfortable to ride on. Being a taller guy at 6'3" I liked the slight additional height of the Yamaha seat and neither seat felt differently when it came to forward slope. And I rode on both seats the same day more than once to compare. In the end the Yamaha comfort seat won me over!

While I'm still researching the bike, if the comfort seat added even the slightest height, I'd be interested. I've got a Seat Concepts(medium) on my FZ9, and it's never been anything but great. Still, I'd love to try out the Yamaha one on the '10. Be great if a few dealers had one lying around to entice buyers. Forward thinking....ha.
Forgot to add, I could easily add foam or something else to an SC seat kit. I've done that in the past with a few other bikes, including my first FZ9. Cheers.

My granddaughter rides with me, the comfort seat made a huge difference for her. I wouldnt even consider the seat concepts if you plan on a passenger, they shaped the rear of the seat to look like a cowl. it looks good but I personally dont see it being used as a seat.

Yeah I saw that, with the SC. I doubt my daughter would be on this bike though. It would strictly be a one up machine. Nice observation, and appreciated. Always good to know more feedback.

Funny thing is with the steep kind of drop off on the comfort seat I've always thought that looked more like a cowl.

Hi, i would wait and try the standard seat and go from there, everybody's body is different , so any advice is subjective, it's not just height and weight that makes a deference ..... For what it's worth i'm 5' 9" and 180lb and Like the the standard seat, with a tank range of 100 miles give or take, i have never felt uncomfortable between fill ups.

Well I've already ordered the comfort seat haha. I'm sure I won't regret it though, the more padding the better as far as I'm concerned plus I think it looks heaps better.

Prior owner of my '18 mt09 bought a Sargent World Sport seat to the tune of about $500. I hated it, ended up buying Yamaha Comfort Seat. Just my 2 cents worth, don't waste you money on Sargent.

I love my seat concepts, worth every penny. Same here, much better than stock. Although I have not tried the Comfort Seat so there's that. I'd like to ride with it to try it though

I had a seat concepts on my versys, the material reminded me of the way that beige medical cling wrap stuff sticks to itself. Once I was on the seat, my butt didn't slide around. It was less on the cushiony side and more on the shape/grip side.
I've only tried the stock seat and the comfort seat on the mt10, but I don't think I would enjoy a seat concepts as much as I do the comfort seat.
