Hey gang, I got a 2wdw ecu reflash and I bought the graves block off plates. Ecu has been calibrated for the block offs.. my question:. I have a full tank of gas, I really have no way to drain the tank so I can install the plates.. I thought I read somewhere that there is a Jose you can kink off and it does the same thing.. I just need to do this till my first tank is empty then I'll tear it all dwon and install the plates. Any ideas?

You dont need to drain the tank to pull it off. It will be a bit heavier when it's full of fuel, so dont drop it. I dont know the mechanical term, but there is a valve on the tank/line that prevents gas from spilling. If you're concerned with weight, you can just siphon the gas out using a marina-style pump. I had a buddy with a Benz who had to pump all his oil out every change (lol).
Richies bikes on YouTube did a very comprehensive walkthrough of ais removal:

No need to drain the tank. It wont spill when you unlatch the fuel line. Just dont flip the tank upside down or drop it 😁

Well boys, I got it all done. Unhooking the fuel line on the tank I maybe lost 2 drips.. literally! The outside Allen head on the smog plates were a bugger, they we're tight all the way to the end of the threads. I think what took the longest was trying to get that plastic rivit back in he bottom hole on the clutch side for the intake panel. I must have fought with that thing for 20 min! I started her up and she is loud. I also installed a dan-moto delete pipe. I am also using a yoshimura FZ-10 muffler. It's a shorty muffler.. just the few revs know the stand and it really barks! There is just too much snow up here in mn to ride.. although it reached 40 degrees! Heat wave!

When I spoke with 2 Wheel Dynoworks they said that even though the flash would disable the AIS they still recommended installing the block off plates. So I spent my Saturday taking my bike apart, and installing the block off plates, and my new exhaust. Now, I just have to wait for my ECU to come back.
Temps are rising here in TN, and the wait is killing me. I know it will be all worth it when I finally get this all done. Back roads here I come!!
