After noticing my front trex fork stand was partially supporting the bike by the abs sensor I opted to buy the triple tree adapter. I got the adapter but I can't get the right angle to put the pin into the triple tree because the stand hits the top of the front fender. Anyone else have this problem or any suggestions. Anyone know if you have to do anything special to use the pitbull triple tree stand?

I have the Vortex triple tree stand. I test fit the pins and thought I had the correct pin, but it was actually one size too big to fit at an angle. A 17mm pin will fit by hand but not when on the stand. I used a 16.5mm and it worked perfect.

The 16.5 pin is the pin I had them send me. I wondering if maybe they could have welded the wrong angle on it. I am waiting on an email back from them. That is the angle I have with the stand resting on the front fender.

It looks like the pin is barely in, it should slide in further. I have a pit bull, but it's the same type. I haven't tried it on the FZ yet.

Yeah, it is just the end of the pin but that's as far as it will go unless I remove the front fender or lift the front of the bike higher. I noticed bogie had his up on a pitbull stand and I tried messaging him but I am not able to. If you end up trying it and it does work on your pitbull, let me know.

Try another pin or shorten this one. The bike will never be properly supported with it like this and likely to fall off at some point.

So to update this, I cut and tapered the pin and now it works. Before: After:

I was able to use the #36 pin with my pitbull front stand, but it requires a lot of effort to not scratch the fender. It looks like what you have will work.

The pin I cut down doesn't work. I was putting my bike up on the triple tree stand last night and something didn't look right. I looked to see how the pin was sitting and the stand came down hard and chipped the paint on the lower front cowling.

I don't have my FZ-10 yet, so I'm sorry if this doesn't really help or isn't applicable as a possible solution for the FZ-10...
I have the T-Rex front stand w/triple-tree adapter as well. I have a similar problem with the pin for my Honda CBR600RR where I could never get the pin fully inserted while the pin was actually in the stand/adapter. My workaround was to get the adapter/stand situated up under the triple-tree and hold in place by hand. With my other hand, I inserted the pin into the triple-tree on the bike. I'd hold it there by hand while I worked the actual stand/pin-holder up to the already-inserted pin. It slipped onto the pin properly and I could lift up the bike without any problems. When I'd take the bike off the front stand, it'd be a reverse of the process (more or less). A bit of a pain, but it works fine, and is cheaper than buying a new stand.

Just tried this with a 15.5 pin and couldn't get the pin to go into the triple tree adapter. May just say hell with it and buy some pitbulls.

That sucks. I just ordered the 15.5 pin from TRex too so this is a bit disheartening. Really don't want to drop the money on a set of new stands just because of poor design.

I just cut down the 15.5 pin a little and it seems to be a tight fit but works. The length of the pin sticking out of the adapter is 1.05".

Stupid question: did you trim down from the top or the bottom? I would assume the top, but wanted to make sure before I cut down the pin.

Thought about going more as it is a tight fit but I don't plan on putting it up on the front stand very often. Also to note I have been using the middle holes on the adapter.

Got time last night to modify my TRex triple-tree pin to fit. For some reason, the pin, in unmodified form, didn't even fit the pin-holder on the stand. This was my 5th pin for my TRex stand and the first one which didn't fit the stand. I was able to force it in with some lubricant and a mallet. As expected, it didn't fit under the bike's nose at all. Pried the pin out. Took a dremel and ground off material from the sides of the pin just to get it to easily slide into the pin-holder. After that, it took 2 tries at trimming from the bottom to get it short enough. Now that it's trimmed down though, it fits great. Only difficulty I have with getting the pin inserted in the triple-tree is there's a brake line right by the hole I need to push to the side a bit. Here's the unmodified pin, illustrating how it simply didn't fit in the pin-holder Just showing how long the pin is... Here's the pin after my first trimming, didn't go in all the way due to the angle of approach when getting the stand up under the nose. After 2nd attempt to trim down the pin, got the right length and it fits perfectly. The base of the pin sits just barely below being flush with the top of the holder. oh look, a picture of the bike up on stands, no one's ever seen that before...

My pin wouldn't fit in the stand either. I tried sanding the pin down but wasn't getting anywhere so I ended up using a cylinder sanding wheel on a dremel to widen the stand hole.
