Hey all, So I had a FZ09 before this bike. I hated the horn hanging off the bottom of the triple clamps and plenty of people moved it into the vents. I figured that is something that could be done on the 10 as well. Also, I was concerned that the wires from the starter buttons and brake light switch were being pulled way too tight when full lock to the left. I wanted to run them on the back of the top clamp, rather than the front. I know these arent big or important mods, but I wanted to show how to do it. I circled the tight starter and brake wires. I removed the right side vent and unplugged the brake/starter wires and undid the wire ties and other clips. I removed the horn as well, pulling the wires up from the bottom. I routed the horn wires along the throttle cables under the tank cover, then out the convenient hole in that cover. I undid the small screw holding some of the parts together and used one of the little horn plates. I bent it to fit, along with the leads on the horn. Yea, thats about it. The starter/brake wires werent hard either, I ran them down the back of the upper clamp and zip tied them to the clutch cable. I used the little clip that held the horn wire to the brake, but I used it to hold the starter/brake wires to a small bracket inside the "scoop" area. Then ya just put it back together. woohoo Also, I am going to cut the extra metal off the horn mount on the bottom, but I didnt want to do it tonight and piss off my neighbors. Cheers

Love it. That horn, hanging underneath the tree, bothers me too. Thanks for sharing your solution.
I’ve been wondering if anyone has run all that wiring internally in handlebars yet. I’ve done it on past bikes and it really cleans up the bar area to be rid of all the wiring. I haven’t looked at it closely enough to determine what it would take on the FZ-10.

I've also looked at the horn thinking "what in the hell can I do with that ugly thing". I may steal your idea.

Great info. Curious though, how does the relocation effect the horn output?

No change at all. Maybe a tiny quieter on the left side, but I doubt it.

The only time I’ve ever used the horn on a motorcycle is when I press that little button by mistake. Haha. I had considered removing it, cutting off the bracket, and throwing it away. So, it’s awesome that you shared an easy way to relocate it to a hidden spot without even having to fabricate any brackets or anything. Even if it’s a little quieter than it was, it’s better than throwing it away. 👍🏽

Great! Now if someone could just figure out a way to re-route the clutch cable blocking where you put your key in! That shit is driving me up the wall every time I go to start the bike...

The horn definitely still works, it saves me from 2 different idiots trying to merge on top of me on my ride home on the obstacle course known as the 5 freeway.

I am moving this to the tech tip section, where it will be seen and help thousands of riders for years to come. This will also show up in google search results and been seen by thousands of more people world wide. It's why I ask people to post thes tech tips here, instead of on Facebook where they get buried and lost in two days. Great job! Thanks again!
