About 20 years ago I bought a new Yamaha and within 3 days the battery was toast, sometimes a battery will just fail for no apparent reason.

I just bought a new lithium battery that wasn't fully charged. On the other hand it cranks a lot of amps and it is lighter. No problem so far with the use of my heated vest and gloves 🙏🏼👍🏽😃

Ikranmakto thanks for posting the info about turning the key to the p position! I didn’t realize I had done it till I drained a battery. I thought I was just locking the steering but I was actually putting it all the way over to P. What a frustrating thing learn on a great riding day.

All good jaxrider , I know this has caught out many a MT/FZ 10 owner. It's the bonus of these forums, picking up on tips by scrolling through what other owners have written. We'd all rather be out riding our bikes rather than watching them sit idle in the garage while we scratch our heads.

I would first ask how long is "sitting"? Like 2 yrs or a couple months?.
Gonna sound stupid but gas in the tank?
You ain't the first one that has left a ride sitting around as a clothes hanger!! Dont ask lol!! I was a kid so...hahahaha
Make sure battery charged, plugs are good, filter doesnt have crap in it etc. Keep it simple bro

It's always the battery! Something I learned on the Suzuki GS site.

One key click past the steering lock is a parking light position. Even if you’re not running your flashers it’ll drain your battery in a few hours. Happened to me
