New battery...all fuses look ok... The dealer will pick it up this week, hopefully this will be covered under a warranty. By the way I called a local dealer...the guy asked me to take my bike to the NY dealer I got it from (I am in NJ) ... then I called Motorcycle Mall...they will pick up my bike free if change!

If my bike could travel at the speed of light, would my headlights work?

When you say won't start, are you saying starter will not turn over and crank or just won't fire and start while engine is cranking via starter motor? Got to ask, kill switch in run?

Wonder if it has anything to do with the side stand switch. Also curious if it's a "will crank and not start" or won't crank at all situation.

So that would rule out some things such as the side stand switch and some fuses. Should be a warranty covered issue for sure wouldn't worry about that. Let yus know what you end up finding out.

Have you lifted up the tank recently? If so it is possible the plug for the fuel pump that fits into the bottom of the tank wasn't connected. The bike will crank but won't start if the fuel pump isn't running. An easy way to check is to stick your ear against the fuel tank and turn the ignition key to on. You should hear the fuel pump make a whirring noise as it primes.

I know you stated the fuses were all checked.

This happened to me once, I turned off, removed key, inserted it again and jiggled it and then started right up. Has not happened since in 6500 miles. Good luck with it and update us on what it turns out to be Tom

I would bump start it to see if it fires. I had an older bike I couldn't get started and finally bump started it And then it was completely fine after that. Figured maybe it was vapour locked or something.
Other than that and maybe checking the voltage or the battery again just to be absolutely sure, I'd bring it to the dealer if it's under warranty which sounds like it might still be. Good luck and let us know for sure.

I got my bike back, no issues according to the dealer. All they did was to charge the battery, apparently that was the issue even though the battery was new. That was so weird, I even charged the old battery with no success. Well I am glad I got it, I am ready to ride this week... I got my electric heated gear ready. Thanks for your comments and feedback friends.

I had the same issue, two weeks after I bought it the battery went totally dead. After a long discussion with the dealer they warrantied it.

Good to hear you have the problem sorted nedfeliciano Just a quick question though, You didn't turn the key all the way to "P" after you came back from a ride did you? At the risk of sounding like Captain Obvious, this is a known fault with the MT10 that drains the battery, most times beyond repair. Turning the key past the Lock position to P activates the electronics by which you can use the hazard lights etc:

Part of the problem was caused by me having two bikes... most of the time I was riding my VFR (better gas mileage), by the time I got the battery tender the battery was not good anymore. The bike was parked in the lock position all the time.
