Hey, that's good to know. For us 2017 owners, it might not be a bad idea to change that switch preemptively. Thanks for the heads up. And now the bad news ..... Had the rear brake light switch replaced under warranty on my 17 due to cruise control issue, went through me cleaning, adjusting and back and forth to the dealer so he could clean and adjust it before he gave up. Hope you get it resolved, I was told the front brake switch is a two step switch that can fail one way when it works otherwise.

This is good information to tuck away. My bike was purchased in Nov. 2016 and so far no issues at all with the cruise control, knock on wood. I've got the Y.E.S. extended warranty until Nov. 2021, so if it fails before then at least it'll be covered.

I love having the five year Y.E.S. coverage, it wasn't expensive and I'm covered until May 2022.

Sometimes when i'm using cruise control, and have to clutch/brake/throttle, when i try to reset my cruise speed it will begin blinking orange and the set light will disappear. It WILL NOT work again until i come to a stop and turn the bike off, when i turn it back on it works fine. idk whats up with it.

Just got the bike back from the dealer its a 2019 Mt10 I had to send it in for a bad oil pan gasket. They also did the LeoVince Mid pipe while they had the exhaust down. When I got it back I had a flashing light when I try to engage CC. I called the dealer and the idiots said that cuz I have no cruise control... Im like ok why I have it last season... Anyways im not feeling confident that these idiots can even fix it.. They said you can drop it off today. Im like you guys charged me for the "first service " What exactly was performed so I can double check things the mechanic may have touched or adjusted. I also asked them to CALL me BEFORE they did anything that was going to cost me out of pocket.. well they did not call and performed work to the bike. Im kinda pst off. They were going to put the mid pipe in for free. But it cost me over 220$ for what ever they did. I will check the kick stand switch and the brake levers for the double clicks. thanks in advance

You might need to clear any stuck codes inch ECU. Should be an easy fix. Take it back to the dealer, have them hook it up and clear the codes. Should be free of charge if this happened during them working on it.

Looks that the Exup valve is removed, did they remove the Exup motor as well?

yes the servo and everything was pulled. I asked them to call me BEFORE they pulled it if it interfered with the install of the midPipe. But I hooked up my DynoJet PV3 and cleared the one code and also cleaned the side switch best I could with electrical parts spray and that seemed to do the trick. Cruise control is now working fine again. I think it was the Side Stand switch. It was pretty grimy. I saved a trip to the dealer. Its a hassle to get picked up and dropped off with all thats going on im my life now. (selling and buying a new house with a GARAGE!! yay!!). There is a servo buddy installed so I dont think it was that. I did not see any evidence of them doing any service on the bike and I cant find the receipt from pickup. Whats done is done. Cleaning the side stand switch seems to have fixed it. I love the new MidPipe !! it sound awesome with the stock muffler, Just the sound I was looking for. Not to loud at all. But enough I can be heard approaching an intersection or passing a car on the HWY. I HIGHLY reccomend the LEoVince if you can find it in stock. They sell out fastl. thanks for posting this thread on where to even look to fix the problem. I cant believe they said the bike does not have CC on the phone like im some idiot. lol

I pulled the Exup and servo motor on mine at the same time as getting the ECU flashed. The Exup servo motor was disabled when it was flashed so as not to throw a code. So I disconnected the battery before doing anything and reconnected after everything was done. I still needed to clear a code with my OBD 2 reader before riding. So I think maybe just the disruption of removing the Exup servo motor and plugging in the servo buddy is enough to throw a code. Glad you got it all sorted, yeah and some dealers are idiots.

I've done a lot of work on the cruise and brake circuits while designing and testing a plug and play brake/cruise module for those that upgrade their master cylinder to Brembo RCS19 etc. In that time I have seen or experienced all the faults described here. The most common issue is a change of levers where the aftermarket ones don't hit the actuator of the microswitch properly and/or poor clutch adjustment. Where the lever is not fully pulled back into the perch upon release. When new levers aren't fitted the most common fault is the rear brake switch. This switch can be cleaned up properly by popping off the white cap and removing the contacts as shown in the images. The second most common issue when it's not levers related is the front switch. This is actually made up of two small subminiature switches. The part can be found here... www.digikey.co.uk/product-detail/en/omron-electronics-inc-emc-div/D2HW-BL202MR/Z5302-ND/1811819They can be replaced fairly easily at about $5/£4 each if you're handy with a soldering iron to cut out the old and refit the new.
